I think Danny has lost this team

Ouch:

"I’m convinced Bagley is one of the two most-talented freshmen in the country – Oklahoma’s Trae Young is the other — and it’s obvious Bagley is more talented than anyone on Wake Forest’s roster.

That’s an uncontrollable factor. What the Deacons could control against Bagley, though, was sorely missing.

There was a lack of desire, of will power, to compete against the best player on one of the best teams in the country. If you can’t get up for that and find some extra hustle, when can you? Bagley regularly outworked Wake Forest players around the basket and elsewhere, evidenced by a couple of open-court steals on lazy passes. His motor was running at a high speed for all 38 of his minutes on the court; the same can’t be said for any of the 10 Deacons who played at least 10 minutes against Duke."

There are a number of things that a coach can not control, but effort is not one of them. No effort no play. Guards that refuse to get the ball inside, sit. There are no consequences for these players. Either they are doing exactly what DM wants, in which case he should be fired, or they are ignoring their coach, in which case they should sit.
