Game of Thrones - House of the Dragon - (and beyond) Discussion (spoilers allowed)

Because a prisoner with nothing to lose is not someone you want with access to weapons.

so they thought Jon Snow might give him a weapon?

because nobody thinks that Tyrion would be able to take a weapon from Jon Snow.

maybe he just didn't feel like carrying the sword. it's not like someone asked him; he just sort of dumped it on that extra who kind of looked like he didn't know how to Stand on Camera while Holding Something

but god damn this show doesn't think about motivations or internal logic at all. fucking pitiful

Why even write in the Jon Snow/Targaryen angle if they were going to do nothing with it? Just so many loose ends.

It got Varys killed, it caused strife between Dany/Tyrion to the point where Tyrion was imprisoned and resulted in Tyrion convincing Jon to kill her. They did plenty with it.

What happens in a hypothetical next episode?

Drogon takes Danny back to Essos where a red priestess brings Danny back to life.

Danny takes Drogon back to King's Landing to reclaim her thrown.

Bran whargs into a raven and watches as Danny and Drogon kill the remaining people of King's Landing.

Danny and Drogon easily defeat everyone in King's Landing, kill Bran the Broken and then turns north towards Winterfell.

Before Danny arrives in Winterell John Snow is tuned into the new ice king and he walks north of the wall.

Danny kills everyone in Winterfell including Sansa.

No matter what Sam and his wife and child die during the above.

Yara sails off for 12 hours before turning around with her army, kills Bran and takes the Magma Throne.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created

Did anyone see the clip of that fat bitch Meghan McCain spoiling the entire ending on her show like 12 hours after the finale aired?

There were people in the audience on trips to NY that didn't have HBO or people making watch parties for when they got home, hell even one of her co-hosts was only on season 4 and she just straight up gave away how it ended and then acted all high and mighty and said "real fans were watching last night"....never apologized once. Such a bitch.

Read an article about the problems with the finale (cnn). This sums up my feeling pretty well.
"Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss broke this most basic of storytelling rule over and over again in Sunday's finale. It was as if, having decided where each character would end up, they charted the path of least resistance from each narrative point to the next. The quickest route from A to B.

Sorry. basic rule was "show don't tell." They did way too much off screen.
