Deacs to sweep Orangemen - 1:00 - CBS/ACC Network

Skip used to say that the team will win when they get sick of losing.... about damn time that happens!

Just watched a replay of the game. The four guard lineup was fool's gold. When the guards were hitting three's in the second half to cut into the lead they were also allowing layups on drives and offensive rebounds. When the shots quit falling and the turnovers returned Syracuse kept scoring over the Deac defense. Of course, the 27 minutes played by Thompson, Sarr, Eggleston Okeke and Mitchell yielded 1 point, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 turnovers and 5 fouls. Of those five the only player who showed anything decent was Donovan. Pretty effective defense, three rebounds and two hard fouls underneath in six minutes. The rest earned their time on the pine.

Did you even watch the game today! It’s obvious that Manning is a genius in game coach who was able to make an adjustment at halftime to get us back in the game. And it clearly works for VT! Unless you are suggesting that I shouldn’t base my opinion of a team or a lineup off of one game

Are you serious? “genius” in game coach? Yeah, having Moore out at half court trapping when he was the only WF player on the court over 6’2” was a real stroke of genius. Remember the Virginia meltdown 2 years ago? The extra TO Manning took which cost us a game early in Manning’s first year was a harbinger of things to come.

This is completely accurate. Great post. Our issue remains that we need guys producing that are 6'5-6'9.

All I can say is same old shit! But hey at least we didn’t blow a lead this time.

That is where the glimmer of hope arises as adding two players listed at 6’8 should change our approach. A lineup of Crawf, Brown, Hoard, Sarr, & Moore would never be undersized. Have Key, Mucius, Chill & Mitchell fill out rotation & size should never be an issue assuming Crawf, Chill & Key aren’t on the court together.
