what really happened, the GOP got all frightened yet again by a smart woman with good ideas about consumer protection so they dug through all her shit and found this one thing, that Harvard even said wasn't a consideration, to try and discredit her while they walk around with their tongues up Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnels bung holes slurping the sweet juice of hypocrisy with every shart they bestow upon them in the name of tax cuts and entitlement cuts.
 
I was hoping that Trump's election would offer a silver lining that people wouldn't give a shit about minor "scandals" like this and Obama's burger toppings. Clearly that's not the case. Worst case scenario (which there is really no evidence of), she's knowingly lying-she got a recipe in a cookbook out of it. That's it. If it was a Ward Churchill situation where she used her ethnicity to advance her career, that would be one thing, but she doesn't teach Native American studies.

Notice that it's not black people complaining about Shaun King, or native americans complaining about Warren. I think it really gets in their craw (conservative whites) that a person can have the social public privilige of looking white, while being a racial minority. It's like a cheat code.
 
It just pisses off conservatives when anyone talks about minority issues. If they are black, they can't talk about racism, because either (a) a bunch of people are getting shot in Chicago or (b) because of single motherhood. If they are women, they can't talk about sexism because either (a) Hilary Clinton didn't shoot Bill in the face when she found out about Monica Lewinsky or (b) because sometime, somewhere, a girl once made up a story about being sexually assaulted. And if they are white, they can't talk about either issue because they don't really care about the issues facing minority populations, they are just virtue signalling.

It is never the right time to talk about racism/sexism/other minority issues, and nobody is ever the right person to do so.
