Hiring the son of one of your biggest donors isn’t a good look but it’s better than this.

wes miller has developed a pretty good track record at this point too, he’d be a fine hire.

How is 2 games over .500 coming into this season a "pretty good track record"?

How would you compare that two other mid-major coaches - Grant (+21 in four years) or Kelsey (+50 in six years -one less than Wes)?

miller tookover a terrible program and has built them over time into a solid program with a good future

your post shows how stats without context are useless

Nail in the coffin yesterday.

We will have a new coach in '19 or even sooner.

Better days are ahead!

Context is in Years 4&5, he was still under .500.

And he still has no P6 coaching experience whatsoever.

We aren't in the position of giving someone on the job training.

So, Shaka’s no longer the coveted savior? Or Pelphrey?

Shaka took the money and ran to Texas. Highly doubtful he leaves Texas for Wake.

Pelphry is probably available. Assistant at Alabama after mediocre stints as HC at South Alabama and Arkansas. His composite HC record is 149-126. His teams have occasional big wins but also underperform in many games. At 50 years old and with 9 years HC time he is no longer a "young, up and coming, hungry" coach. He would be a retread. Only one NCAA appearance at Arkansas.

He was being sarcastic.

Jesus Christ, people, we can't hire a fucking dukie. Haven't y'all any shame?

That’s kind of how I feel about Wes Miller.

Rich Wake donor dad + obnoxious gym rat/coach on the floor at UNC + has been ok so far at a low major = future Wake coach?

Disappointed in buckets, especially, for his Wes endorsement.

You will likely see him in the NCAA tournament again this year. Probably would not fit in here anyway.

Somebody will get the autobid and the southern conference is garbage. That’s how low major ball works...

Somebody gets to go. So if you are average among your peers, you will go every 10th season. Winning your conference consistently usually means you are a pretty good coach.
