Donovan Mitchell Transferring

Hoping players like Mitchell stay so that they can maybe be contributors as seniors is pretty much exactly the Jeff [Redacted] plan. Kid got double digit minutes in 20 games this year and averaged 3 and 2.

That will make it all the more painful for us when Pitt is able to get back to the NCAAT before we do

8 Pitt players have asked for and been granted their release...woof

Pitt had 6 players transfer last year, and that does not count their best recruit from last year, Aaron Thompson, who had signed with Pitt, but then got a release to sign with Butler (he is playing a lot for Butler). So, if Pitt loses 8 this year, that program would have lost 15 players in one calendar year. Got to be a record.

new coach hoping against hope for an Alan Dickens type (or 5) somewhere on Pitt's campus so they can have practices next year

This was also Manning's plan when he signed Mitchell, Washington, SJM, and Eggleston.

That's more than Baylor lost and one of them got murdered and the another got a life sentence.

What's wrong with that? I recall one Scooter Banks waiting his turn patiently...only scored 5 and 3 in 17 mins his soph campaign but was a vital cog for us by '95-'96 and his senior year. Wouldn't have killed Manning to bench TT to the tune of 5-10 mins to give Donovan closer to 20 mpg down the stretch to see what he could do...couldn't have gotten much worse after early Feb had turned into the BB winter blues.

3 star veterans are overated today. 1- star grad transfers are the way to go.

Who needs to build a program when you can rent one. Need maximum flexibility.

We might as well go ahead and start signing 7 man classes and just keep the 2 or 3 we like.

I bet Donovan's transfer makes Eggleston's departure a lot less certain.

Both should have gotten more run this year. Would have won more games but would have had less chuck-time for Manning.

Newsflash: Wake needs veteran players if they ever want to be successful.

No excuse to have Eggleston only play like 11 minutes in ACC games this year while we were losing all of them.

exactly, he showed promises, no excuse that he sat out entire halfs during the second half of the season. This is on Danny's boneheaded minutes allocation.

Mannings substitution patterns are the worst I have ever seen. They are unexplainable. There is no pattern or scheme to his approach.

The only consistency was his refusal to change his starting line-up the entire year, unless there was an injury or suspension. When a ship is sinking why not try something different.

I am sure that Miitchell could not understand why he did not play in the last 16:51 of the UNCG game when he had scored his career high of 10 points earlier in the game. There is no wonder he is leaving.

My next concern is Chaundee Brown. Manning totally wasted Brown's freshmen year by a lack of playing time. The best example of this was the 7 minutes Brown played at NC State.
