But gets 1 more year. Aaron McKee will succeed him. Kind of like giving Manning another year and then letting Randolph take over.

Temple fans seem to want Dunphy out now and a nationwide search for his replacement. Temple has had 4 coaches in over 60 years.
 
So Temple is going the "bring in a prominent graduate" as coach in waiting route. That should make their upcoming season very, very interesting.
 
McKie was part of that Temple team that we inexplicably demolished in Philly back in the day. Pretty sure that still stands as their worst home loss ever, and that Temple team had some good players (3 future pros?). They couldn't handle Rodney.
 
Dunphy has been a Big 5 lifer. He was a good guard at LaSalle in the late 60s. He's one of the few coaches ever to coach two Big 5 teams.

He must be pushing 70. This is a classy way to do it.

Postgame Brent asked Odom if he wished WF had played better competition than Temple. Odom laughed that one off

Temple made the Elite 8 that year while WF got destroyed by Mashburn & Co in Charlotte

That was one of Odom's better game plans, figuring out a way to get good open looks against the "amoeba" defense Temple used under John Chaney. And RoRo. They didn't have an answer for him.
