RIP. A great actor who could always laugh at himself. Broader range than just FMJ, although FMJ is awesome.

A childhood friend who was in the Corps said one of his fondest memories was getting to eat with Ermey when he was in country to rally the troops....said he was a nice, funny guy.

He improvised 95% of it, at least the beginning. Unreal. He was supposed to be a tech adviser and they ended up dumping the guy the cast and going with Ermey. Iconic decision.
