2018 NCAA National Tennis Championship Thread

is it a general rule that there are more breaks in doubles than singles?
This is a great question.

Tried to see if a study was done but couldn't find anything. My hypothesis is there would be more breaks in singles than in doubles.

- Shorter points in doubles means serve is more influential, longer rallies increases chance of point reaching a neutral point
- Bigger servers in doubles means more aces and points ended on serve or second shot for service team

The one point going against this is doubles is a higher variance game than singles so more chance for breaks to occur. But not sure that's enough to make up for the previous two points.

The video is a few seconds behind the scoring. Makes it maddening. Also only being able to watch one match at a time.

Looking good for the moment if Bar can close out the first set but goodness this is going to be tight!

Petros with a big break. 2 and 3 are looking very good.

With 5 and 6 both down a set and a break, going to come down to Bar finishing his guy or Gojo making a difficult comeback.
