Family Separation at the Border: US citizens are now being detained

Since they are not sending people back, the Biden administration has in effect instituted open borders. This is made all the worse by the Biden administration inviting any and all migrants, who might wish, simply to come. Furthermore, it is the policies of the Biden administration that are exposing an increasing number of people to the depredations of the human and drug smuggling cartels. All this is fed by the greed of the donor class, who wants more cheap labor, and the Dem politicians, who need new dependent voters to help them get elected and stay elected. These policies of the Biden administration have nothing to do with compassion. Indeed, they are the opposite of compassion. They reflect nothing but pure intractable hypocrisy and cynicism.

Given that we're a nation built on immigration, yeah, that ConnorEl quote is accurate, no matter whether the border situation is happening under Obama or Trump or Biden. The fact that some of the same stuff is happening under Biden instead of Trump doesn't change the fact that it's disgraceful. But hey, you got in your drive-by trolling potshots, so I'm sure you're happy.

What do you think is happening to these people who are “just being let in?” Where do you think they’re going and what processes are they entering? They are entering into a backlogged asylum process that will determine if they get to remain in the states. We’ll see how the Biden administration handles it (honestly, so far it’s just been “promise the world, do very little”), but the procedures in place during Bush/Obama had a 93% rate of asylum-seekers showing up to their hearing, that number moved to almost 99% if they were connected to legal representation.

Further, dependence o/power of cartels was exacerbated immensely because of Trump’s MPP policies that increased vulnerability and desperation for those at the border.

I’m not saying what Biden is doing is great, it seems like he wants to do one thing, but isn’t doing it because the situation is more complex than he may have realized, but it’s a false dichotomy to place border security and humane policies opposite one another.

Let me respond to the bolded statement first. There is no dichotomy between border security and humane policies. I have never claimed that there was. Quite the opposite. There is no humane policy with open borders, nor any other policy that will not turn into a sham, if not a catastrophe. A country must be able to control its borders. Let me repeat again open borders are completely at odds with the welfare state. You can have one or the other but not both.

Biden and the Dems created the current crisis at the border. Blaming Trump is shallow and dishonest polemical rubbish. The policies of the Dems are so awful that they will not even allow access to their own cheerleader reporters. They want to carry out their inhumane policies under the cover of darkness and with a complete lack of transparency.

The current policies of the Biden administration cannot be considered humane by any standard, or will any policy by any other administration be compassionate or successful until the United States can exert control over which foreigners can enter the country and how long they can stay. At this time the Biden administration is encouraging people to come with promises of assistance, open borders, future amnesty and citizenship, and the opportunity to live in a country indefinitely, if not in perpetuity, where the infrastructure works. If the Biden administration is actually going to deport individuals whose claims of asylum are found wanting (which should be likely for most of these people who are not refugees but economic migrants from poorly run states) then they are needlessly and cruelly luring people into the arms of the human and drug smuggling cartels. If they don't intend to send anyone back, save an occasional few, then they have in effect open borders, which will undermine any and all policies, expose people to unnecessary dangers and expenses, and strengthen the smuggling cartels.

The only acceptable and humane policy would be to force people to apply in their home countries and then allow them to come legally, if they are accepted. In short, not allow them to seek asylum at the border. But then that would entail a debate about who should be accepted and under what criteria.
 
Who closed a large percentage of the humane facilities for children?

Who discouraged relatives from taking these minors in with intimidation by ICE?

LOL. First of all, there is absolutely no evidence that illegal immigrants are voting in any significant numbers (or even smaller numbers) in any state, so the notion that Democrats want illegal immigrants here for their votes is absurd. And if these immigrants make the effort to become American citizens and are naturalized, then is sailor saying that they still shouldn't be allowed to vote? That's not bigoted or prejudiced at all. And as for the "donor class", it includes vast numbers of Republicans and conservatives, including Trumpite farmers who rely on those immigrants to do most of the work on their farms (when the state of Alabama cracked down on illegal immigrants there a number of years ago, farmers yelled the loudest, and the crackdown was stopped). It also includes lots of older conservatives who rely on immigrants to clean their homes, mow their lawns, and take care of them in rest homes and nursing homes and hospitals. But, yeah, let's just pretend that only LibDem elites need or want immigrants here. Right.

Seriously though. Im not sure who to believe...sailor who says the Biden is welcoming all the immigrants with open arms and destroying our sovereignty, or Angus who says that Biden is putting little Mexican kids in cages and making them sleep on the floor because the cruelty is the point. Maybe it’s all a big ploy and Biden has opened up the border so that he has more kids to put in cages.
