Trump's Pardons

If I'm not mistaken, Trump stiffed a lot of people on junk bonds Milken sold for him.

Good chance those people did stuff that Trump doesn't think is wrong because he's done them too. These pardons also further the Republican view that white collar crimes aren't real crimes.

Trump is basically bringing the overarching plot of Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 to real life. The worst beings from Hell are being released back to Earth and they can't just be killed again.

It won't last very long before their programming kicks back in, but Blago's commutation is the first thing I've seen the MAGA drones actually criticize Trump for.

Next up, Bernie Madoff.

I don't think Trump understands that if he pardons someone they still have to tell the truth about what they did or be charged with perjury. Since they don't have to worry about self-incrimination for the crimes they have been convicted of, they don't have Fifth Amendment protections once pardoned.

The White House descriptions of those pardoned are hilarious. Each ends with people who support the pardon, lists full of Trump donors and sycophants.

Edward DeBartolo, Jr. Many prominent individuals from the National Football League have strongly advocated for this pardon, including Joe Montana, Jim Brown, Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Ronnie Lott, Charles Haley, Derrick Brooks, Fred Dean, Robert Kraft, Jerry Jones, and Roger Goodell. How great is it for Bernie Kerik to be supported by murderous, racist thug Chief Eddie Gallagher!!!!

This is going to get crazy.

I guess a lot of people never thought that much about how the pardon could power could be abused because, at most, presidents up until now would do a favor here and there in the mintues before they left office; but this dude is just running riot in the middle of his first term. And the crazy thing is he's damaged norms and desensitized us to the point that most americans won't give a shit.
