IMO, it is classless to demean your own players unless they have simply refused to work at improving.

Who wants to play for a coach who goes public declaring that his players are not sufficiently talented to be competitive?
 
Readers Digest version: Bronco told the UVa Board of Visitors that his ideal schedule would include the worst Power 5 school every year and the observation on the lack of talent in the program. Apparently he didn't specify how many of the 27 ACC quality players on campus were holdovers from the London era and how many he'd recruited.

Didn't Clawson basically say the same thing when he arrived at Wake?

If I recall correctly, I believe Clawson was talking about the strength numbers. He said something along the lines of they were the worst strength numbers of any team that he had coached and not nearly good enough for the ACC.
