Announcing a game every hour. So far we have Belmont Abbey (exhibition), NC A&T (opener), Houston Baptist (who?), the Myrtle Beach Tournament, and Davidson. Next will be announced at 12.
I will try to add them to the OP as they are announced or soon after.
Western Carolina (Mark Prosser is coach)

Similar to Bz's last year, this OOC schedule is gonna be full of a bunch of complete cupcakes with a few decent opponents mixed in to try to prop up the W-L record for those not paying close attention.

Revealing scheduling strategy. Last year, WF scheduled teams that would help WF get in the NCAAs (if you beat the likes of GA Southern and Liberty; teams that were expected to be in the 100 to 150 range); other than Charlotte, who was unexpectedly horrible, WF didn't play any bottom feeders which partially explained how WF's KP rating stayed in the top 100 despite so many losses. This year, looks like WF is looking to pile up wins against awful teams; doesn't help WF comparative resume to get in the NCAAs, but leads to an (misleading) improved W-L. This was the old Clemson scheduling strategy when they would start almost every year 11-1 and then finish 15-16. As previously stated, next year is setting up for WF to have a .500 type of record which allow those in power to claim that progress is being made.

I think a positive spin would be that we rack up wins against cupcakes, don't have an abysmal OOC record and it'll give us some confidence going into conference schedule. I'd rather be 11-1 vs weak schedule than 6-6 against strong one. It's all about the psyche for the players and coaches.

Or we will be overconfident after feasting on cupcakes.

Bingo. Wellman wants to keep Manning just like with BZdick.

Guys.

Last year, Houston Baptist beat Texas State who beat Georgia Southern who beat Wake.

Texas State also beat Pacific who beat BYU who beat Saint Mary's who beat Gonzaga who beat Creighton who beat Villanova.

We're in trouble.

announcing the Friday before the 4th of July must mean we've got some major opponents to announce

Ha! This is a good post

Playing teams ranked outside the top 300 is just so dumb (I get the Prosser connection with Western). It's awful for your SOS and RPI and any teams with NCAA tournament aspirations will take care of business in most games against teams ranked 200 instead.

Hey I'm not lowering the expectations for Manning. It's tournament or bust - this is year four. Time to saddle up and ride boys.
