2019 offical College Football thread

Hard to see Notre Dame not taking a CFP spot. Their only real chance at a loss from here on out is at USC in the season finale. They will be favored in every game as they finish @ Navy, @ NW [could be tough], FSU at home, Syracuse at home & @ USC.

I wouldn't count Cuse out as possibly being able to beat them as long as Dungy stays healthy. Cuse is very dangerous on offense. If their defense hangs in there and gets a couple of breaks they could upset them.

The Notre Dame Syracuse game is in Yankee Stadium, not at Notre Dame. It's considered an Cuse home game, but ND will have more fans.

Notre Dame scraped by tepid Pitt at home last week. They could lose to anyone. Wouldn't be surprised to see Cuse, NW (Soldier Field) or USC beating them.

Every year in early October, dopes suggest that we are going to have 4 or 5 undefeateds and it never happens. More likely that a 2 loss team gets in the playoff than we have 4+ undefeated teams.

Louisville TE charged with threatening to kill girlfriend, suspended from team

Averett is being held on $10,000 bond pending arraignment. University police charged him with first-degree wanton endangerment and fourth-degree assault.

According to the arrest citation, Averett realized his laptop was missing from a backpack returned by his girlfriend. He then approached her car and put a gun to her temple, threatening to kill her. The report adds that Averett threatened to shoot the car and told his girlfriend he would "have my people looking for you."

Nick Bosa hanging it up and preparing for the NFL draft. Was previously thought he'd be back in early-mid November. Big hit for an already-struggling OSU defense. Tough to blame him if the injury isn't going to be fully healed - he'll be a top 5 (possibly #1) pick.

Well, the other one has already been named Defensive ROY and a Pro-Bowler, despite injuries.

Technically, anything is possible, but VT is not going unbeaten in the ACC -- 8-0. They lost to ODU by double digits.

Yeah S&P gives them a 3% chance of running the table (5 and 6 wins are both tied at 32% likelihood). The division is a total coin flip though, UVA, Duke, Miami, and Virginia Tech all have either 5 and 6 wins as their most likely finish.

Gameday is broadcasting at Washington State for the first time this Saturday. There are 11 Power V schools that have never hosted Gameday (according to Chris Fallica's twitter -- in order of the next most likely to host):

Iowa State
Minnesota
Maryland
Duke
UVA
Wake Forest
Cal
Cuse
Illinois
Kansas
Rutgers

Did not realize WSU had never hosted. Does someone still hold up a WSU sign at each Gameday?

hard to believe Cal with Aaron Rodgers never hosted Gameday, and almost as hard to believe someone kind of in the know thinks WF will host before Cal

Gotta think that Mr. Row the Boat will convince Gameday to make an appearance in Minneapolis sometime soon

ACC and B1G each having 4 schools left out.

Non-power V schools that have hosted Gameday (tOSU has hosted the most -- 17):

Air Force (3)
James Madison (2)
North Dakota State (2)
Army
Harvard
Boise State
Bowling Green (this shocks me)
Florida A&M
Houston
Temple
Penn
Western Michigan
Williams

FWIW, Gameday has been held at the Army/Navy game three times, but the games are always on a neutral field. Gameday has visited Army and Air Force, but never Navy.

Finally, Cal, Kansas, Cuse and Illinois have all been the road team for Gameday appearances. So, the 7 schools Power V schools that have never had Gameday appear for a home or a road game are:

Iowa State
Minnesota
Maryland
Duke
UVA
Wake
Rutgers

If you add in college hoop Gameday (which began in 2005), all of the schools left out of college football Gameday have hosted college hoop Gameday except:

Minnesota
Rutgers AND

yes, Wake Forest.

Ouch.

Didn't Wake host the Hoops Gameday before the UNC game in 2005?
