2019 offical College Football thread

zqglass, I made it there in '02. Great gameday atmosphere. Get to the ice cream shop on campus. It's made by the dairy school and is about a 15 minute walk from the stadium.

I'm staying right off campus, I'll try to make my way over there and try it!

I am not one that is usually overly optimistic when it has come to our sports teams of late, but I did say we would win 7 games last year and most thought I was crazy and was, of course correct. Plus I loved the great win over A&M to get a very nice comeback win at the Belk Bowl.

But I also hate it when dumbass Wake fans don't give credit for what we do have on our roster when it is there! And to say we don't have great talent on offense is so LOWF of you Pilch! We were 2nd in the ACC in points scored and while we will certainly skip a beat with Wolford being gone, he didn't hit his stride until the 2nd half of the season. With the entire OL returning, that by itself is 132 starts. WR will be a real strength and there is no way on earth that Washington & Dortch will be double teamed, not with 6'4" Surratt ready for action opposite of Washington. And while Seringne was our best TE ever, he might have been underutilized and blocked too much to have been such a top notch weapon. He only caught 35 passes which was down from 2016. I hope Freudenthal is used more actually and he has the same size as Cam. And I haven't even gotten to the addition of Christian Beal at RB, so along with depth he gives us outside speed.

But yes Pilch, I am expecting Wake to win at Tulane in a wild shootout, something like 42-28 as the Green Wave has no defense. They gave up 412 yards per game last year & 36 points and only have 5 starters back. While I am sure Willie Fritz is looking at our game as a hopeful win on his way to a hopeful bowl season, he is still picked 5th in the AAC West behind even Tulsa. They have only 5 on the preseason all AAC team offense, none on 1st team and only 3 on defense, with 1 on 2nd & 2 on 4th. Their strength lies in their QB & OL. Not with their defense. But that is OK, you sound like the typical LOWF person, poor mouthing before the season even starts. Where I do expect a huge tussle is in Game 3 against BC. They are vastly improved with Anthony Brown at QB, AJ Dillon at RB and a huge OL. We will hopefully be up & running full steam with our young QB and outscore them as their D will give up some yards.

Re-posting for educational purposes.

Wake Forest has a PROGRAM not a place where an individual occasionally shines. The driving force is David Clawson and the community he has gathered around Wake Football. Next Man Up.

Oh,and by the by,Greg Dortch and Scotty Washington are better than last year.

Greg Dortch’s aim — not yours or mine, mind you — is to be the best player in college football. Watch his performance versus BC and Andre. Remember his performance against Lamar. His performance against Louisville was Greg’s way of making a statement.

I’d have to say that with his football acumen, size and skill level, and personality (‘It’ factor) that Greg reminds me of Desmond Howard and Rocket Ismail

Dabo and the Tigers sleaze it up at the annual women's clinic/breast cancer fundraiser.

In the video, Wilkins guides one of the 3,000-plus participants in the event to a seat on the floor of Littlejohn Coliseum, as a crowd of women look on in the background at an event where the university invited female fans to participate in drills, meet coaches and players.

While holding her hand, Wilkins guides the woman to a seat, which she takes with dramatic flair. As Wilkins circles the woman a number of times, she playfully reaches for him.

He eventually tears off his tank top and begins to briefly dance in front of her, then drops to grind on the ground. He rises and approaches the seated woman in an embrace before circling her again and draping a leg over her shoulder.

The video ends as Wilkins and the woman swap positions, with her rising to face him as he sits in the chair.

Taylor also sought to diffuse any controversy over a photo shared on Twitter of Clemson football players standing around, or posing, while some were wearing underwear or rolled-up shorts.

Taylor said that photo came from a strength and conditioning portion of the Ladies Clinic. Unable to bring heavy equipment from the weight room onto the floor of the basketball arena where the Ladies Clinic was held, the participants improvised with a bodybuilding competition.

“They were looking for a visual representation of the strength and conditioning program. They did a body building pose off,” Taylor told The State. “Very similar to really any body building contest you’ve seen — tasteful, fun, allowing the guys to be representations of the hard work that’s done with the strength and conditioning program.”

My question is who the hell is that sleazy oversexed Upstate cougar ?

And does she go to the same church as Dabo ?

Geez. Dabo running an escort service or a football program?

Whatever it is, it is working well. He could become the first Power 5 program & coach since Spurrier at Florida to win 4 consecutive conference titles this year.

Elijah Holyfield is going to make his father, Evander Holyfield, the second most famous athlete. In the world ? No, in Georgia !

I kind of like Dabo. He seems to be a lot of fun and not sure which other non-wake schools have fb head coaches that i like better. Certainly not petrino, fedora, purpleface kelly or duke's grumpy cutcliff. After clawson, i like the syracuse coach Dabbers? and maybe BC's. Probably am forgetting one or two.

Real hot seat for Hat Man Fedora. Lots of bluff at Louisville with Petrino right now. People give them too much credit because they are not near what they were when he took over with everything Strong left him a few years back. Heisman Jackson covered up a lot of their ills the last few seasons. Just 4 starts back on D which was already one we torched last season. Don't see why we can't go up there & beat them again. I think the real team to give Clemson a run in the Atlantic division this year is BC......tons of returning starters including POY candidate Dillon at RB, a really good QB in Anthony Brown, the entire OL coming back & they HUGE. Their D only returns 6 starters. Our game with them on Thursday ESPN is maybe our key game of the season.

"Really good QB in Anthony Brown"?

- Brown is coming a knee surgery which ended his season last year, he missed spring practice; so not even clear how healthy he is.
- When healthy, Brown completed only 50% of his passes and had a poor TD/INT ratio of 9/8.

Brown is a long way from "really good" or even "really mediocre".

BC will have a strong running game with Dillon, but Anthony Brown or whomever plays QB for BC is a big question mark. BC also lost key pieces off an "alright" defense. BC is not close to Clemson's class.

The big unknown is FSU. They were loaded last year, but Jimbo bailed on that team and they bailed on him. The Noles still have ridiculous talent. If Francois can return from his knee injury, the OL does not completely suck (remember how the WF DL dominated FSU?) and Taggart can get a buy-in from the roster, FSU can beat anyone (they get Clemson at home).
