2019 offical College Football thread

More talent than State? That can't be so on paper. Agreed that we are better coached.

Yes, we have tons more talent than State. We return everybody on offense except for Wolford & Serigne and will still average 40 points per game this season. We are now a "plug & play" offense as shown last season when Dortch went down and we didn't lose a beat. State lost a resounding portion of their defense also to the draft and also their 2 main RB's on offense. So we should not go into Carter-Finley Stadium scared of them this season. And of course we are much better coached. All Doeren does better is whine.

Yet a medicore-as-fuck South Carolina team was Georgia's biggest threat in the SEC East.

And don't give me that they beat State. They got outgained 2-to-1, State gave that one to them on a silver platter. And SC had their best player then, who got hurt two weeks later

2 if you count the kickoff return when our dumbass kicker who has blown too many games to think about tried to do a pooch kick that led to a much easier than needed opening kickoff. Season of what if's for NCSU.

I would say the talent is comparable between wake and state, but just because we return a lot of players that doesn't equate to having better talent.

Return everybody on offense except our QB who had the best season in school history, our TE with most TDs in school history, and our 2nd or 3rd best WR in Hines

durrrrrrrrr

Meh, USC wasn't great, but a mediocre as fuck team in the SEC doesn't finish with 9 wins.

Hate it when WF fans spout off like dumb-ass fans of other schools. WF lost its QB (Wolford), coming off the single most productive season in 100+ years of WF football history, and then WF had its top returning QB (Hinton) suspended for 3 games; that alone is a massive change from last year. Jamie Newman looks like he has a ton of talent (but he played one game last year, and threw pick against Presby), and people rave about Hartman, but it took 3 years for Wolford to master the offense. So, ignorant to make it sound like WF's offense is not going to skip a beat this year. BTW, Seringue is a huge loss. WF's best TE in decades, and there is no one close to him in experience and production on the roster; a lot easier to double Dortch and Washington now. Think/hope that at some point in 2017 (maybe when Hinton returns and gets comfortable with the offense again) that the offense will get cranked up, but those expecting WF to hang a ton of points on Tulane and then BC in games 1 and 3 are in for a rude awakening.

You sure about that? The only teams they beat that made the postseason were non-conference foes and a 7-6 Mizzou squad (again, when their best player was healthy)

Yes, but replacing Hines with Dortch is no problem. Jack Freudenthal is going to have a great year for us & Newman is going to be a good QB. He will have 2 good games to get acclimated [or if he gets beat out by true frosh Hartman, he will have the same] going into the crucial game against BC. We are loaded on offense with newbies Beal & Surratt coming into our powerful O. The defense is in the more than capable hands of Boogie Basham, Willie Yarbury, Zeke Rodney, Justin Strnad, Demetrius Kemp, Cameron Wade & Chuck Wade. Maggio punting and we will find a good kicker out of 4 choices. Then of course we have lightning returners in both Dortch & Beal. Quit worrying about us--we are looking at a 9-3 season and a great bowl.

Lol, 2 games to get acclimated. Should be no problem. It only took Wolford 35 games to do so.

Losing 2 NFL guys (including a 2nd round pick), as well as Dunn and Jaboree, on defense is nothing to sneeze at, either. Think we go 5-7 this year and then begin to crank it up again next season.

Can you people go talk about Wake on another thread ?

None of our opponents, when they get their schedule, puts an "L" next to the Wake game. That's our greatest advantage.

I don’t think we will average 40 pts/game

They only got 9 wins because they got to play NC State in their first game.

Nah, got to 9 wins because they played Michigan in a bowl game and the shit SEC division.

Have the same feeling. I expect us to play good ball this year, but this could be a year similar to 2009 when the ball just never seemed to bounce our way. I truly believe we will come damn close to winning the division in 2019.

We're going to hang a lot of points on Tulane. They lost a lot on defense and were pretty trash last year. We should run for 250+ and hit a few deep balls.
