The Democratic Party Left Me Behind

Definitely. Kinda goes against the point of politics. If you aren’t trying to convince people to adopt your ideas on how to make the world a better place then you’re just complaining to complain.

It also seems like a weird statement from someone who has experience as an organizer. (Am I remembering that right, mdmh?)

Government to make the world a better place? Nonsense! Better left to private enterprise and the rugged individual

MDMH has been extra angry lately. wonder what's really going on?

There are plenty of non-voters and disillusioned or disenfranchised voters out there who are actually in need of political candidates that will represent their interests.

The notion that wealthy white collar centrists deserve even more political attention is the entire problem in a nutshell. I'm under no illusion that someone here is going to change their mind. Why would they? Their needs are already met no matter who is in office. As was already alluded to in this thread, politics is sports to you all. As long as your team wins, everything is fine. Your only concern is whether or not the guys in the blue uniforms are winning.

During the great gulag wars to come the majority of the posters on these boards will be eating crab, watching bitches shake shit all night making big moves, and doing big things while mdmh sits around with his compatriots shivering by the fire as they contemplate the advantages to eating the biggest member of their group.

Just find the saddest sacks and promise to solve all their problems - Dolan Trump, ca. 2016

Oh, man. Must be tough being the only person on these boards capable of feeling empathy. Thanks for carrying that burden for us.

I'm definitely not. I'm quite certain that there are many more charitable and service minded people on this board than me, probably on this thread even. No, my criticism is strictly to do with your political ideology, or lack thereof

Not really sure what you mean.

It helps the right because advocating for violent and unjust political retribution tends to invalidate for most folks whatever argument one is attempting to make. Right or left.

Just pointing out that we’ve spent like 5 pages wringing our hands about some shorty hyperbolic alliteration.

Y’all are talking about Horseshoe theory and don’t even realize MDMH is way closer to the top of the horseshoe than he is to either end

Just curious what you mean? If I think I know what you mean, it is that mdmh does seem more willing to work to reform the democratic party. Our KC DSA isn't even taking up a vote to endorse Welder.

Just that what little I’ve gleaned of mdmh’s views, while characterized as extreme by far right conservatives and center-right Dems, isn’t actually that far left on the political spectrum.

The so-called “socialist” Dems some of y’all are ranting about are closer to the center than most republicans in Congress.

I don’t think there are any Democrats I’ve heard of close in the “horseshoe” to the far right. That’s just some more false equivalency BS.

Your perspective is obviously terribly skewed

why don't you explain so we can have a conversation like adults? I don't even know Childress' politics. So, I guess I would say that in the current US overton window context, mdmh might be correctly labled "far left" but I think in a more global context, he would be more to the center of spectrum (horseshoe).

ETA: This is all still kind of making an assumption about mdmh that I haven't confirmed with him, but I have the same observation as Rchill. If you go to a DSA meeting, you are just as likely to meet communists as you might be to meet someone fresh off the Hillary train.

Dude MDMH is one mountain dew, red hat, and cruel heart away from being Trump. Their populist ideologies are almost the same, just MDMH is probably a nice compassionate person, and MAGA bros arn't.

This shit is so dumb, and I'm trying to ask any of you to provide an answer how and you can't. I don't know all the history that people have with him, but seeing everyone avoid the question makes me think you'd rather sling ad hominems than engage in an argument on the merits of the DSA movement.

Trump isn't a populist. Get outta here with that nonsense.
