WF Men's Soccer 2018 In-Season Thread

A very hard fought win. The defense really woke up after the go-ahead goal. DeShields seemed to always be in the right place at the right time in the last ten minutes.

It was an important win; but we did not look very aggressive on offense...that is until #3 entered the game. Still we looked sluggish on both offense and defense. Still, we won and that is what counts.

Lapa got tangled with a defender who seemed to give him a chuck. BC was playing pretty rough already. Lapa gave him a shove in the back as he was going down and the guy rolled on his back.

Lapa lost his balance and was falling over the dude anyway, and the dude stuck out his feet and sort of jabbed at Lapa, who fell and rolled on his side, either hurt or acting hurt. It seemed to be a hard foul but not a serious injury. The BC player then got to his feet, stood over Lapa and shoved him in the side, taunting him.

To be totally honest, the guy was sort of in the right if you take out the context of how BC was playing (and likely directed to play). The one variable that was hard to see on the replay was how bad the initial foul on Lapa was. Whatever that foul was, Lapa didn't fall from it.

They both deserved a yellow, probably both deserved the red.

Bruno actually kicked out at Forbes. I thought the red was warranted.

Lovely goal to go up 1-0 in Columbia. Alistair with the finish.

Lol This announcer remembering the the good old days of bjorn borg vs paul mcenroe

Does anyone have any details about the ACC Soccer tournament? Game times? Likely seeds, etc.

saw that Lapa was not on the box score roster, presumably suspended for the red card

is that a mandatory one-game ban? team-imposed? back for UVA?

mandatory. would be back for UVa. feel like we already would have heard if league thought additional games were necessary (eg, violent conduct can come with more than one game suspension). usually that's done pretty quickly and certainly before next game. and i think if coach thought it was enough to warrant additional discipline by team, he would have said so by now. doesn't sound like it was bad enough to warrant either.

Love the logo at the end.
