Official Bundesliga 2019-20 thread

Freiburg/Bayer today boyz. Some sweet Hummel shirt action and whatever the fuck brand Bayer wear. Jako? WTF is that? More like JANK-o. OHHHHHHH.

There is only one Jaco I fw and that's Pastorius.

Haaland out next fixture vs Paderborn and Mo Dahoud is out for the rest of the year. Bundesliga title race is OVER (basically was with the last round's results). Champs League could still be pretty interesting, though -- one of Bayer, Gladbach, RB, and BVB will be hurting.

Havertz on fire with another goal. It's been a little rusty, but the Bailey, Havertz, FloWirtz trio is pretty exciting.

Uh oh. And Havertz goes down after a kind of innocent looking collision and is hurt. He was on his feet again, at least, but it was one of those where it's not clear what it is right away and you worry it's like a weird ACL. Anyway, Diaby on for Havertz, maybe just mostly precautionary.

Freiburg played well enough for a draw for sure. Couldn't tell if Streich was just super frustrated or pissed at the Bayer bench there at the end.

Havertz the youngest to 35 goals in Bundesliga history. 6 in his last five. 9g 4a in his last 12.

A peek at peak Cruyff, peak Ajax, and maybe peak Soccer. A 4-0 dismantling of Bayern Munich in the quarterfinal of the '73 European Cup, with Bayern rolling out a team with Beckenbauer, Muller, Breitner, Hoeness, and Maier.

Cruyff, Neeskens, Suurbier, Haan, Krol, Rep, G. Muhren, Keizer. What a side!

No shin guards. No flopping. No whining. Beautiful.

Schalke’s lack of attacking ability is crazy. They just never seem to have a clue what they’re trying to do, nor any ability to threaten.

Bremen struggles to score but at least you can see at times what they’re trying to do. Sargent has been very active even without a lot of good service.

My man Todibo fucking around with it too much for the goal, and kind of generally, but Schalke have looked terrible since the re-start. Wagner fraud-o-meter is starting to spike, though at least he has gone back to Nubel rather than Schubert, who had not instilled the confidence.

But hey, McKennie v Sargent. Got Wolfsburg v Eintracht on the laptop. The shadows at Schalke are annoying.

Thought McKennie might have gotten his 2nd in 2 there.
