I love mankind...it’s people I can’t stand!!
Apologies if this was already posted but this article from The Atlantic on the origin and future of QAnon is absolutely chilling.

Damn.
Willfully misinformed delusion is a powerful drug.
I love mankind...it’s people I can’t stand!!
Dems, Lincoln Project and others need to tag team MTG. Keep her responding on TV. Everyday she's on helps Dems.
Dems really don't need any more help at all from the pubs.... irreparable damage has already been done.
pubs jumping ship every day.
I'll believe it when it shows up electorally. Until then, we need to keep MTG front and center every day. Let's them think they are winning as she drives more and more Republicans away as her insanity registers more Dems.
It's not either or. No need to play only one hand. If you can play seven hands at a casino blackjack table, why shouldn't progressives play every hand they can?
I guess maybe it’s plausible that they are leaving the party, if that’s what you mean. But the GOP has just vehemently reasserted its love for Trump, with the SC and WY state parties censuring their members that voted for impeachment, and at least 45 GOP senators heading unwaveringly towards acquittal. The GOP is a fascist trash heap.
Birds are real.
Chuck Todd on Meet the Press noted today the numbers of people in several battleground states who have quit the GOP since 1/6. NC was one of the states mentioned, and about 8,000 Republicans had left the party, in PA it was about 12,000. It seems like those numbers are just a tiny fraction of the overall GOP registration, though, so a lot more will need to drop their party registration for it to have any real effect. I do think the Democrats need to keep hammering the GOP over issues like 1/6 and Greene and Boebert and Cawthorn and others and not let up. They followed the do-nothing policy towards the GOP for a long time and it doesn't seem to have worked very well, especially in off-year elections.
Unregistering numbers mean nothing until an election. Are these people done with the GOP or just heading into the “silent majority” because they’re too chicken to admit they’re still really Republicans?
Those article are about Republicans who switched right after Jan 6. More may have switched since and even more may have abandoned the party in their minds.
Agreed, and I've wondered that myself. How many of these people have simply switched to being one of the vast number of "independent thinking" voters who are registered unaffiliated but still somehow manage to consistently vote Republican for nearly every office in every election? I guess we'll find out in 2022.
Yeah. It could be temporary disgust. But they continue voting Pub because they still want to own the libs.
