The New Socialists

Until man evolves to near perfection, the most successful societies will be combinations of capitalism and socialism. Without incentives, great discoveries are less likely.

link?

See the article from The Economist I posted in the bullshit jobs thread on the Pit. People are tied to bullshit jobs that lack creativity and freedom and serve no purpose.

Your point? Socialism is the greatest creator of bullshit jobs, which are financed by expropriating from those who produce more desireable and useful things, in history. No capitalist country is even close to producing the number of bullshit jobs that are a natural part of socialist systems.

If you are ever going to provide an argument, maybe you can find it in there!

in all of recorded history the only societies that attempted a collectivist or something approaching socialist economy were ultimately rendered irrelevant or utterly destroyed.

what other argument is necessary

one might also add that the remarkably impressive body counts produced by socialist experiments with alarming regularity ought at least to give pause to a decent and intelligent person (academic understatement, I know, but true)

What are some examples of those socialist bullshit jobs?

maybe if you both keep working together, you can piece together an argument.

What's the body count of the american experiment?

check out the economies of the USSR, PRC, Eastern Europen formerly socialist countries for openers

List jobs. If you know something, it’s not hard to just list it.

What's the body count of the american experiment?

probably less than those of most countries in their normal existence, but let's say for argument's sake that they are the same, which would still make it considerably smaller that those of the socialist countries with their gulags, which have been the greatest mass murderers in history

We are pretty fucking good at mass murder.

For as much as the young crowd loves to give RJ shit on these boards, the old man knows what he’s talking about.
