Democrats : 3 Rungs Lower Than Whale Shit

MLK literally said that white moderates protect white supremacy, so you choose to focus your criticism toward those who have an economic analysis similar to MLK, rather than criticize anyone protecting the status quo. It’s disappointing.

White moderates of his era were dramatically different than that of today.

If you ask the question, you have not read or lived any history.

If you can’t provide any explanation or evidence, I’m just gonna assume you want me to accept it without any questioning.

You have to understand the base lines. In MLK's time, interracial dating and marriage were unacceptable to a vast majority of "moderates". Today, it's not perfect, but it's much, much better.

People of color were often cajoled by moderates not to move into all white or even 90% white neighborhoods. It's not that bad today.

Jobs, schools and more were much more tense around "moderates" back then.

It's not perfect now. Hell, many of us thought we'd be much farther along racially than we are, but it's much better than it was then.

How in the world is this thread 60 replies deep?

I'd suggest simply ignoring Lectro's posts, particularly on The Tunnels - they are generally a waste of bandwidth

It’d be great if catamount could formulate an argument. The baseline moving is less important than the white moderates opposition to the status quo. We live in an era of mass incarceration and just went through an economic downturn that saw an incredible loss of black wealth. A black man was just murdered in his own apartment and smeared by the media and white moderates or liberals still beg for more police on the street.

Moderates/centrists never own up to their own ideological and electoral complicity in conservative governance. All corrupt and harmful legislative outcomes are the fault of "absolutely necessary" compromise.

Mass incarceration? We had to do it. Bailing out banks instead of homeowners? We had to do it. Removal of public option from ACA? We had to do it. On and on it goes. Moderates always in the right, never at fault. Rolling back Glass-Steagal? Had to do it? Confirming all of Trumps district court judges? Had to do it. Funding the Saudi Arabian military against Yemen? Had to do it. Droning fuckin school buses? No choice. I mean, we can't risk Montana having a Republican Senator.

These fucks don't give a shit about anything if its not related to Trump's decorum, black-white racism, or abortion, and their support for those issues is shallow as hell. When Trump ever leaves office all these reactionary bourgeois latte sippers are going to just forget about politics for another 8 years.

in reality, there is a pretty large shortage of police officers nationwide.

Under fractal inequality, almost anyone can be agitated, educated, and organized by the socialist movement. That said it's still most important to build power at the point of production.

Pretty fucking telling on here that liberals would rather chastise leftists than centrists itching for more police.

It's pretty telling that you are a dumbass who just creates strawman positions in your fervent imagination to rail against.

Yes i am just fervently imagining that mass incarceration exists because of people like you.
