1. Country attempts to nationalize parts of its economy.
2. United States bombs it to smithereens, assassinates leaders, embargoes it's economy.
3. "see, socialism doesn't work"

It wasn't a rebuttal. I was just stating the facts (including the fact that he started seeing #2 before leaving #1). He didn't "literally surprise divorce his first wife after she was handicrapped in a car crash". They were in their 20's when they married. They were apart for almost 6 years due to his military service and each had obviously suffered major physical and emotional injuies in that time. He asked for a divorce after he starting seeing Cindy, some nine years after her accident (and six years after he found out). Carol ultimately agreed to a divorce in February of 1980.

You're entitled to your opinions about the late Senator, but not your own facts.

In what world do you live in where its acceptable for a husband to cheat on his wife for 10 months before they seperate? McCain completely blindsided her when he asked to seperate, she said as much. It's insane that you're still arguing this point.

By the way, by it's own definition of wanting to keep the things the way they were in "the good old days" is a death sentence to any society. You can't stop progress. To slow, for other than safety reasons, is doomed to failure and is harmful.

either infidelity always matters or it never matters. good luck reviewing the profiles of all your heroes and heroines, political or otherwise

as far as vices go, especially in the great scheme of human existence, while i find it repugnant, it really doesn't matter much

McCain was a dick. There are plenty of documented instances in his life that showed his rotten character. His being a bad pilot and honorable POW didn't overrule his being a lifetime asshole.

I'm going to be kind and suggest that your reading comprehension skills are lacking as you were responding to my post, not Ph's. While Ph and I are both handsome men, it would be unusual for someone to mistake him for me as I'm considerably older and he is taller.

Please point out where I said it was acceptable for a husband to cheat on his wife.

So Mrs. McCain #1 was shocked when her husband asked her for a divorce. Do you consider that to be unusual?

Your initial statement about the divorce infers that either he divorced her when she became handicapped or because she was handicapped. Which is it?
