“Actor Sean Penn criticized the #MeToo movement that has dominated the worlds of entertainment and media over the past year, arguing that its “spirit” places a “divide” between men and women.”

not trying to be serious out here - but this is an interesting observation of “nuance”;its usage, when is nuance allowed or not — perhaps due to the individuals pre-disposition to hear what he or she wants to. We talk about “confirmation bias” a lot but rarely embark on finding the role of nuance as it relates to taste, style, form and mannerism.

We wonder why we have such a difficult time talking with one another today.

“I don’t want it to be a trend, and I’m very suspicious of a movement that gets glommed on to in great stridency and rage and without nuance,” the Oscar-winner said. “And even when people try to discuss it in a nuanced way, the nuance itself is attacked.”

Penn comes to understand the frustration of arguing with those of an Absolutist temperament. This all-knowing “expert” opinion is most common among the Progressive Socialist enclave.
