Trump Committed Tax Fraud & Insurance Fraud & Bank Fraud

Lol. The briefing was complete on October 19 and, in any event, the returns were leaked over the fall. Your Twitter feed is taking you into conspiracy theory territory.

So where is the leak?

So how did the SCOTUS’s alleged delay in ruling on the question protect Trump?

If this had happened last summer, it could have been a campaign issue. He could have been indicted in NY as they don't have the same silly rule about investigate POTUS like the feds do.

soooo, junebug doesn't have a link to the tax returns?

After those who died and were injured at the Capitol get done with Daddy and Junior, they may not have anything left. Those cases could end up in the billions.

The DA has received Trump's tax returns from his accounting firm, and with them, the more important millions of pages of backup documents.

DA's office probably needs forensic accountants and finance attorneys.

Remember, they just hired one of the lead attorneys in the case that put Gotti away. I'd guess he's a good team.

I saw that they hired a top of the line forensic accounting firm.

I’d love to see Donald and fam go down, but let’s be real, he will get a slap on the wrist and nothing will happen. Will pay back taxes and it’ll be over.

The IRS has announced within the last couple of years that it plans on pursuing more criminal tax cases.

They also announced last year that their “Wealth Squad” was planning on ramping up audit activity starting 2020 Q4.

After Duetchebank and others foreclose on him, where will the hundreds of millions he owes on taxes and penalties come from? Even MAGA people might not be that level of suckers.

Remember, when he's done with the feds, he'll still owe NY State and NYC.

And do you really think the IRS is going to make an example of the former president?

Compounding this will be if Trump actually launches a campaign for 2024. Will the IRS want to avoid the appearance of going after a potential Republican nominee?

They put Blade in jail for far less egregious conduct.

Before most of you were born, a friend had been very close to Sen. Paul Laxalt, who was one of Reagan's closest friends and most powerful people in DC. We were having a call and Laxalt said he wasn't afraid of Reagan or Dems or USSR, but he was afraid of the IRS. He said they were "above the law", and they would be there even after he retired, held grudges and didn't want them to take things out on his family. Laxalt offered lots of stuff (including a West Point or Annapolis appoint for one of my friend's kids), but there were limits on what could be done with the IRS.

They don't give a rat's ass what might happen in 24.

if that's the case, what's going to stop any tax cheating asshole to "run for president" to avoid being charged?

Nothing. That's where we are though. Republicans will raise holy hell if the IRS takes down a tax cheat running for president. They raised holy hell for legitimately impeaching him twice. They hate accountability.
