Probably the current Deacs, but only because I suspect Hoard could play close to 40 a game if he wanted to, whereas Moore clearly cannot.

I don’t want to be an asshole, but it doesn’t look good for Melo that we had so many guys leave and he still couldn’t earn any minutes.

You could also argue that he should have never been here in the first place, I guess.

Best of luck to him wherever he ends up. Seemed like a good kid.

It is all but guaranteed that Manning will leave the team with less talent than BZ. Assuming Hoard is one and done, it will not be close.

Had Manning been let go after 4 years, he would have improved the program. Wellman should never buy stocks.

I think you’re onto something. This IS how Wellman buys and sells stocks, which explains why he must have no money and has to keep working.

No he does have money because Wake Forest has continued to pay him well for destroying our basketball program. I think his middle name must be Sherman for how he’s completely torched our program.

Then again, Melo was a better than average defensive player. All that earns you on a Manning team is bench time.

Wow, that is impressive discernment on your part. You can tell this by watching his 5 minutes per game in mop up time? You ought to be a coach or talent scout

I know every one likes to be morose about our bball program but Melo's stroke was just awful. Not sure who recruited him and why- guess they thought they could fix his stroke - but failed. Better off elsewhere as a stiff would have a better chance of playing.

He could be a Jamaal Levy type x-factor player with better coaching.

Isn't his uncle Deac guard Charlie Harrison?

I’ll remember that when I see where he ends up and how he progresses as a player.

I think maybe we viewed him as a defensive specialist because he had no offensive game.

Honestly, I never saw enough of him to have a strong opinion about his potential.

I do think it’s fair to assume that if he could have helped us last year, he would have been on the floor. Manning isn’t trying to torpedo his own success.

Charlie taught a right handed player to start his stoke from his left ear?

Caveat to my own post about Melo having X-factor potential is that Aaron Rountree went to Iona and averaged 6.2/5.2 after not doing much at Wake.

Not setting the world on fire, and he saw the floor more at Wake than Melo, but certainly a contributor for an NCAAT team.

*looks up John Collins’ playing time*

*sigh*

You are assuming Manning is a competent coach. There is no indication of that. From a small sample size it appeared to me that Melo was a good rebounder (particularly offensive rebounds) and a good defender. That kind of player should be able to help a team as lacking as last years team was. Plenty of players have made a living defending, rebounding and collecting garbage.

Danny values shooters over all else. That is fine if you can recruit Steph and Clay Thompson.

I think you are confusing Melo with McClinton.

Thank you. Too few posters on this board truly value my discernment at the level that I do.

At least we can agree on something.

Just how much addition by subtraction can one team stand?

How you guys can justify 7 players jumping ship and there not being a problem at the top. I thought no one could run them off faster than BZ.
