A few tidbits going into Wake's first exhibition:
Looking forward to a competitive game!
- Belmont Abbey, a private D2 school in Belmont, NC with an enrollment under 1,500, finished last season with a 12-18 record, finishing in 8th place in the Conference Carolinas
- They made a “magical” run in the Conference Carolinas Conference Tournament, making it all the way to the conference final, upsetting top-seeded King in the quarterfinals
- They return their top player, Junior guard DeQuan Abrom, who made the Conference Carolinas First Team last year. Abrom averaged 20.2 ppg, 3.6 rpb, 2.4 apg, and 1.4 spg.
- Belmont Abbey was picked to finish 6th in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll. They received no first place votes.
- Belmont Abbey lost their first exhibition game at Campbell, 56-83. They shot 38% and turned the ball over 22 times against the Camels.
- They also have a player named ThankGod Avar.
- They are, objectively, not good.
Looking forward to a competitive game!
