2018 College Football Coaching Carousel

I believe this may have gotten lost in the shuffle, but Tom Gilmore, the Defensive Analyst for the Deacs last season has taken the Head Coaching job for Lehigh. Prior to working for Dave Clawson he was the Head Coach at Holy Cross.

So our coaching staff lost one to UNC and one to Lehigh. Correct?
Relatively minor changes compared to a lot of other teams.
The stability should definitely help.

Good for him. May he have success at Lehigh.

If that list ranged from $5-7.3M they could pay each scholarship football player over $10,000 a year plus benefits.

All D-1 schools pay its football players a cost of attendance stipend that ranges from $3K to $6K a year. IIRC, the WF stipend is between $3K and $4K. I expect the stipend to continue to rise. NCAA rules require athletes to have health insurance to play any sport. If a D-1 college football player does not have health insurance, the school provides it.

Right. And an additional $10K would put football player stipends on par with grad student stipends.

Football and Men's Basketball are the only sports that make money. Would Wake afford to pay 150K for women's golf and not be able to re-sign Clawson? Title IX is keeping this from happening.

Why have men’s golf, tennis, soccer, cross country, etc at all? Title IX doesn’t force us to have other non revenue generating men’s teams.

OU gives Lincoln Riley a raise to $6 million in 2019, and then, grows each year after that (5 years $32.5 million): https://www.tulsaworld.com/homepagelatest/ou-regents-approve--year-million-contract-for-lincoln-riley/article_abb1aacb-1f55-59b4-ac5c-f9c3b2066cc9.html

Top 8 in CFB:

1. Saban $8.3 million
2. Harbaugh $7.54 million
3. Jimbo $7.5 million
4. Malzahn $6.7 million
5. Kirby $6.6 million
6. Dabo $6.2 million
7. Mullen $6.07 million
8. Riley $6 million

Harbaugh at #2 is just priceless. Dude's a total clown and has won nothing meaningful at Michigan.

Agree 100%, but he did take an NFL team the Super Bowl. Michigan was bidding against NFL teams. If Harbaugh left Michigan tomorrow, he would get $7 million+. The Panthers pay Ron Rivera more than that now.

To be fair, we don't have a men's volleyball team.

Head coach to a one year stint as analyst seems commonplace nowadays. We had the former Holy Cross coach on our staff as an analyst this season.
