It’s not popular to say but she should have retired 8 years ago and definitely shouldn’t have tried to stick around for President Hillary. Her pride and selfishness could undo her legacy.

That or she still considers herself (and is correct) one of the 9 brightest legal scholars in the country and still has a drive to try to enact justice through her position on the SCOTUS.
And none of that will matter if a Republican gets to replace her on the Court.
I'm sure you'd take well to working your whole life to reach the peak of your profession, then having somebody tell you when you should step down to suit their own selfish interests.

no one told her to step down. that was the problem.
By comparison, Trump and his people worked on Kennedy and replaced him with one of his former clerks.
Why? You're saying she should have stepped down during Obama's presidency when there was no indication that she couldn't do the work so that Obama could replace her. What if she really enjoyed the work? What if getting up and doing that kind of work is what keeps her going, keeps her happy? She has a lifetime appointment that she earned. You're calling/inferring that she's selfish because in your view she put her needs over the collective, but isn't what you're asking is that she put your interests above her own? Why the fuck should she do that? There's no crystal ball. Hindsight is 20/20. It may have just been as simple as she liked her job and wanted to keep doing it. Second, she doesn't owe anybody jack shit about when she should retire if she can do the work. Third, you wouldn't be saying this about her if she hadn't just broke her ribs.
She was 77 eight years ago. Get out of here with that crystal ball nonsense.
