Field Hockey

To answer the question regarding the dropping the status of the program there was some sort of disciplinary action involving suspensions that happened right around the time we went our last final four in the program never really recovered to the elite level that it was at. Was it regarding some sort of hazing incidents I think? And going from nine straight final fours to no final fours in a 10-year period is clearly a drop-off.

That was several years later. Maybe 2007? Same year that Women's Volleyball got hit with the big hazing violations too. Incoming Class of 2005 was one of the strongest ever, for obvious reasons, and they never won another title.

I think if you look back you'll find out that that incident happened right around the time before the program started dropping off maybe a year or so

Even Alabama football has had a few down seasons over the last 20 years.

This is not a good comparison.

First, they've had the most dominant run in college football history since Saban arrived. It really isn't even debatable unless you're going to dig back into the days of leather helmets.

Second, it is harder to stay at the apex of college football than it is any other sport.

Third, what "down" years? Saban has been there eleven years. His first year? His fourth? He took over a program that went 6-7 the year before he arrived. They won the natty in his third season. They've won four more since then, lost in the semis one year and lost the title game one year on the last play of the game. So in the last 9 seasons they have 5 national titles, one runner up and one semi-final loss. The other two years they went 10-3 and completely obliterated Michigan State in a bowl game and went 11-2 while losing the Sugar bowl to Oklahoma.

What he has done there has been the most remarkable run in the history of college football and would be in all of college sports but for John Wooden.

Yay Princeton!
