2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

"But more than any of them, Sanders is himself filled with resentment, on edge, feeling like he gets no respect -- all while holding on in his head to the enticing but remote chance that Clinton may be indicted before the convention."
"Top Sanders aides admit that it’s been weeks, if not months, since they themselves realized he wasn’t going to win, and they’ve been operating with a Trump’s-got-no-real-shot safety net. They debate whether Sanders’ role in the fall should be a full vote-for-Clinton campaign, or whether he should just campaign hard against Trump without signing up to do much for her directly.

They haven’t been able to get Sanders focused on any of that, or on the real questions about what kind of long term organization to build out of his email list. They know they’ll have their own rally in Philadelphia – outside the the convention hall—but that’s about as far as they’ve gotten.

“He wants to be in the race until the end, until the roll call vote,” Weaver said"

Harris will make a good VP pick for Biden

I believe the only way would take VP is if Biden promised her in writing he'd step down after one term and would support her to replace him.

As a regular VP, she likely wouldn't take it.

I think she would. Sets her up with executive experience and the inside track on the next nomination.

Yeah I thought Pete fared well last night. Just solidified the top tier candidates IMO - warren Bernie and Pete succeeded and looked presidential. Most others looked like pretenders.

This is "Presidential" in 2019.

Bernie came across exactly as what he is, an old angry socialist. If your into that kinda thing I guess it works for you.

Catamount gonna buy Donald’s 2020 campaign hook line and sinker while lamenting other people as sheep. Classic.

Also, old angry socialist >>>>>> old, demented, corrupt, possibly treasonous racist buffoon

But hey, if you’re into that kinda thing I guess it works for you

I'm really starting to think we're really going to blow this thing. Personally, I like Pete best of those with a chance, and I think he'd perform the best on a stage with Trump. But I'm not sure he can get to 270 because of the gay and lack of experience things. In order to get to 270, you probably have to win by 5 points. Biden is the only 1 I feel fairly certain who can do that, and I just don't see him performing well enough in the debates and primaries to get the nomination. Add to that Biden gets lousy press from the MSM. And is Obama, you know Barack, whose approval ratings in his last year were in the mid 50s, even going to be invited to the convention depending on who the nominee is? Biden is the only candidate who dares utter his name, and he utters his name more often than Rudy says 9/11.

Bernie's childish, egocentric actions in 2016 should have disqualified him from being on any national ticket ever again. His selfish acts and words did lead to many of supporters not to vote or to vote for Trump. He was too little, too late and absolutely bears some of the responsibility for Trump winning.

Before any of you lose it, the word "some" has meaning. Hillary's laziness and arrogance were central to her losing as a well, but Bernie's actions did hurt the election.

MHB is a one trick pony and doesn't know anything about history. He's a LW Trumpee.

It's been done already. That was Trump's MO in 2016. He played blue collar and rural against the "elites" as the cornerstone of his campaign.

My bad, I'm using actual historical facts versus your dreams.

All you can say is "feelings aren't evidence". You have no evidence that the general public (75% of whom will pay taxes for others) would support you. However, we have actual actions by the same person on the other side.

That's kind of the point-Hilary got labelled a socialist despite her record. Also, many of those 75% have either children, siblings, or friends with student loan debt. And if we are going to presuppose a total lack of empathy, we might as well fold the party-it's not like the kids in cages vote.

America as a whole lacks empathy. America has become a country where large swaths of people will do literally anything to fight against the greater good unless you show them that they themselves will tangible benefit, and even then they still rage against it. Individualism is a travesty.

Warren and Bernie were the clear winners at the start of the debate as CNN was forcing its "moderates vs progressives" narrative (that was literally the chyron as I left the replay to live tv cnn). As the moderators finally pulled back, Bernie lost a lot of ground and Pete gained a lot, Warren mostly maintained her dominance. Not sure what Ryan thinks he's doing-he's running as a moderate, but doesn't seem to realize that "union" has be demonized almost as succesfully as "socialist" these days. Bullock needs a voice coach before he tries to do anything else nationally.
