2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

LOL at thinking that "Pocahontas" is the straw that will finally break those backs.

Never said that, but keep misrepresenting what I say. You've been doing it for years.

In no way did I say it would be "the straw that finally break those backs". Your interpretation has nothing to do with my post.

or any Democrat, for that matter

Your blind hatred has impacted your ability to read. It's not surprising.

Again, here's what I said:

"It's one thing to attack someone as a socialist when that person calls himself a socialist (and has for decades) versus someone who calls herself a capitalist. Of course, Trump and his goosestepping followers will call all Dems socialists, but it will stick much more with someone who calls himself one."

It stuck with Obama. It will stick to almost anyone seeking the Democratic nomination. It might stick to Biden a little less, but that's splitting hairs. Keep arguing though.

lol, post wasn't at all about you, rj

just the fact that all Democrats will be labeled socialists by Trump/GOP

Also firmly on the Warren train

In what way would it backfire in the suburbs and with women then? Would it be the thing that convinces them to not vote for Trump?

It could be one of MANY issues they could have with Trump. No one issue may be the one that tips any vote, but the accumulation of an array things that Trump has said and done.

If all the rape, the spousal cheating, and the "Such a nasty woman..." comment didn't turn off a subruban woman already, derogatory "Pocahontas" comments is highly unlikely to do it.

What’s the likelihood that out of 67,000+ posts anyone has correctly read and understood an RJ post?

Agreed. Gotta say I'm not happy she's going to be the nominee, but it's not as though we have any great choices in this field. One problem she's going to have is she's going to have a pretty narrow EC window. I believe she'll play better in the midwest than the south or mountain west. Think she'd likely take back PA and MI, hold onto MN and probably pick up WI. Don't see her picking up FL, NC or AZ and probably won't help Mark Kelly. She won't play great in VA, but neither does Trump. So if she holds VA, she could lose 1 of NH or NV and still win by a few EVs. The other thing is if she does play well in the midwest, maybe she could put OH back into play, though Trump did win OH by 8% last time.

If only there was some metaphor about the accumulation of many small things that eventually led to a tipping point...

Except it's not necessarily the tipping point. But keep on trying to to put words in my mouth. Many have tried. All have failed.

RE: Townie's "big" union endorsement for Bernie. EU has fewer members nationwide than the Culinary Union has in Las Vegas alone.

Nurses union is knocking on doors about M4A right now. That's...a big one. It's only a matter of time.

Every poll thus far in head-to-head match-ups. You can't honestly post the Monmouth poll and then ignore all the others.

Ah right, k.

Speaking of polls, Biden is at 5% of under-50 voters.

The Trailer: Democrats clear up some internal disputes and extend others as President Trump gets another challenger

A defining question in the Democratic primary is whether the country wants a return to “normal” or another wave of change. NBC's first question here finds overall anger at the “political system” just as high as it was four years ago; back then, 69 percent of people agreed with a general anti-elite statement. Voters have grown less negative about the economy, and, asked for the first time, a small majority agree that people are being heard, rather than marginalized. But the Trump campaign's plan for a Biden nomination is to force another referendum on “change,” portraying Biden and Democrats as the people who want to go back to what left people frustrated; the Trump plan for a Sanders or Warren nomination is to decry radical change that could hurt the economy.

Well, at least a prolonged primary will leave Trump's campaign wavering between "can't go back, we need change!" and "AH! too much change!"

Speaking of the Culinary Union, Warren has been crossing their picket line.
