2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

The cbs article I read said her campaign had crossed it repeatedly, and at the time of the article, her campaign had not commented. I'm glad she apologized and said it wouldn't happen again. I don't work for the Bernie campaign and I am not a "Bernie attack dog." I think we should criticize and scrutinize all the candidates, including Bernie. I spent the weekend with a bunch of people generally critical of Sanders. Though they were glad he incorporated many of the the demands of the 2018 National Prison Strike into his criminal justice plan, he did not properly attribute or credit the prison strike organizers. Your "lol, bernie bro" shtick is tiring as fuck. Are people allowed to criticize or point out other candidates flaws/mistakes, without your childish "Bernie Bro" bullshit?

I don't buy your schtick or believe that you didn't know exactly what you were posting, but I appreciate your heart and enthusiasm. You're one of the most childish, childlike posters on the board, and I hope you eventually get your priorities sorted.

Never said that, but keep misrepresenting what I say. You've been doing it for years.

In no way did I say it would be "the straw that finally break those backs". Your interpretation has nothing to do with my post.

It doesn’t?

Warren campaign vs. Warren. FLATOUT LIE. shut the fuck up RJ.

Completely different and you know it. Your post made it look like Elizabeth Warren crossed the picket line. You were too lazy to spend a few seconds to find out what really happened.

This article:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/2020-democrats-hope-powerful-nevada-union-can-help-serve-them-a-win/

...Federal election filings reveal that Sen. Elizabeth Warren's campaign, which had vowed to "stand with the Palms workers" as early as March, has repeatedly crossed the picket line at the Palms Casino Resort, which is in the crosshairs of the union's boycott, with stays in May and June. Candidate Marianne Williamson also stayed at the Palms in May.

A Warren campaign spokesperson told CBS News that the incident in question involved two advance staff members and claimed that there was no picket line. The spokesperson says the campaign apologized to the Culinary Union "weeks ago when we realized it."

LOL. MHB getting his anti-Warren talking points from @comradeDLB.

I didn’t know Warren was that good of a cook.

Officially #teamwarren

I’d prefer Buttigieg be in a position to effect real change. Generic Rep from Indiana doesn’t get him there. Make him Secretary of State or something way up there. Castro’s Cabinet position didn’t get him anywhere because no one gives a shit about HUD.

That's what I said. The only cabinet position of consequence is state. CIA and defense are also semi-consequential. As for Buttigieg, I'm not sure how sympatico he and Warren are on foreign policy. You need a sec of state who largely agrees with you and will follow your directives. Well, unless you're Trump, and then you just wing it, and 42% of the country will still love you.

Did you not see the cbsnews article?

It’s basically what I posted from the Union website. Two staffers stayed at the Palms a few times. It’s a huge leap to say Warren crosses picket lines. That’s Fox News type hyperbole.

Honestly it’s similar to Dem moderates being outraged on behalf of union health insurance plans.

I’ll wait to see unions actually outraged before slamming Warren.

Julian Castro is a great example of how a cabinet position can be a hindrance to young, up and coming politicians. He has made up some ground due to some media attention and his debate performances, but he was basically a nobody despite being HUD Sec for Obama.

Sure, Senate would be fine for Buttigeg. But I am not talking about putting these people into positions like Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, lets put young people who are the future of the party in charge of high profile departments, like State, DOD, AG. No more old semi retired senators that have no furniture...no more John Kerry's. Obama had no bench to follow him because he gave all the important positions to people that were way past his prime. Joe Biden was his VP at age 67. Kerry was 70 when he took over at State. Get people in their lat 40's or 50's to fill these prominent roles in the Administration. Especially if the President is going to be an oldie like Warren, Biden or Bernie.

Yes, because what we need to rebuild a devastated State Department (and make no mistake, State is absolutely gutted right now and the rebuild job is staggeringly large) is someone with no foreign policy or diplomatic experience. Appointing non-professionals to the job is what got us in this mess in the first place.

Warren already laid out a skeleton plan for what needs to be done at State, it's going to require a real heavyweight with deep respect in the foreign policy and diplomatic community to actually get something like this done: https://medium.com/@teamwarren/revitalizing-diplomacy-a-21st-century-foreign-service-2d9d195698f

I agree. I don't want Buttigieg anywhere near the state department. That's a real job that needs somebody who actually knows what the fuck they are doing.

Pretty large false equivalence comparing Buttigieg to Tillerson/Pompeo but not really my point. I take your point that Buttigieg doesn’t have foreign policy or diplomatic experience, but at the very least he would throw everything he has into learning the necessary skills. He speaks several languages, is incredibly bright otherwise and has the temperament required to heal the large fractures that have been created by the Trump administration. He’s thoughtful, modest, and kind.

I’m not saying you’re incorrect that his lack of experience is a problem and that there are certainly better options for State. I’m saying that comparing his lack of experience to Trump appointees misses the point.

Quinnipiac Poll out this morning vastly different than the Monmouth poll earlier this week:
