2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

why do you just keep saying unevidenced things?

According to RCP:

Vs Sanders Trump is within the margin of error in MI, NV,NC, WI
Bernie is barely out of the MOE in PA
solidly behind Trump in AZ

This is before over $1BILLION is spent stating "Bernie is a socialist", "Bernie will raise your taxes", "Bernie will take your insurance" and to a lesser extent "Boy is Bernie OLD".

Trump's social media team will destroy Bernie. He is easily the weakest vs. Trump among the Top 4.

well, I'm guessing there are a few non-white politicians who might have held pretty steady views

Doubtful. There’s much more of a sense of urgency and less of a sense that the arch of history just naturally bends.

New national Quinnipiac poll shows Pete in second. It’s becoming clearer that the whole “Pete hates the blacks” BS is just an attempt to slander the only new white candidate in the top tiers. Ugly politics coming from people who support candidates who aren’t doing much better.

Pete is at 4% with black voters. No candidate who hadn’t run before is higher than 6%. Biden at 43%, Bernie at 11%, 22% don’t know.

Again, I keep telling you all that black voters aren’t deciding early.

Donald fucking Trump is president and y’all still act like you can predict politics Jesus Christ

We should all just stay home because what's the point

Made a pact with myself listening to Chapo on the metro home today, call it an homage to birdman and Obama

I’ll not post anything negative about any Dem candidates on this thread from here on—I doubt I’ll change anyone’s mind, and I’ll just try and soak up alternative positions.

Come day after the election, I’ll start weighing in again.

Really hope for the sake of the country and because I’m under 65 that Warren or Sanders wins. Y’all have fun for 11.5 months!

Damn. I get it, but this sucks. It should be possible to engage in critical discourse on a message board 11.5 months out from an election.

Thanks, Obama (and birdman).

If history is any indication I’m the lame one here. Can’t seem to balance healthy mental state and good discourse on here and that’s on me.

You're right. No one can predict how Donald Trump acts. We can't possibly know that he personally and grotesquely attack his opponents. DJT will take the high road. He'll use the $2B he'll have for ads to promote unity among all the peoples of America and welcome more great immigrants.

Trump has never and will never name call. He'll never make personal attacks to "protect" himself. DJT will only tell the truth about whomever runs against him.

It's not like Trump has acted the same way for the past 40+ years he's been in the public eye.

That's fair. You have to do what's best for you. I was referring to the weird critical discourse policing that's been going on here.

We - OGB posters - really don't matter that much in the scheme of national politics, as much as we may think otherwise. (Though I hope nobody truly thinks otherwise because that would be delusional.)

Nobody’s policing “critical discourse” just cheap shots.

It seems like Harriot was itching for a fight while Mayor Pete was calling to learn something and listen. Pete could have had an assistant call and ask what's up and why does Harriot want to fight, but chose to personally try to learn. It would seem to me that Harroit should have been encouraged and tried to educate the "white man", but he wanted no part of it which is a shame.

Mayor Pete has a lot to learn and will make some mistakes, but unlike many candidates was trying to admit it and trying not make the same mistake again.

All I’ve asked is that y’all refrain from making me hate some one that I might have to vote for in 11.5 months by calling them odious or, even worse, Republicans. I’m not policing anyone or oppressing critical discourse just a request . If it’s too much to ask, I should be the one to bail on this thread. Go ahead and start shitting on all the Dems but your favorite and I’ll take my leave.

dude, if you're gonna have to vote for fucking Biden next year then you're gonna do it just like I'm gonna do it

in the meantime, let's do our best to avoid having to make that vote

This is very well said.
[h=1]Dear White People Who Crashed the Warren and Sanders Rallies on Atlanta’s HBCU Campuses[/h]https://voxatl.org/white-people-crash-warren-sanders-rallies-atlanta-hbcu-campuses/
White people need to be aware of their privilege. In their minds, they probably thought they were doing the right thing. They came out to support a liberal candidate who’s against marginalized oppression. On the surface, they hadn’t done anything wrong.

But the lack of awareness about coming into a neighborhood that doesn’t usually have access to these types of educational opportunities and making yourself the center of attention just screams colonization. When you come into a community created by and for black students and you decide to to dominate the conversation, you make it hard for us to feel comfortable in our own blackness.

When the DJ plays Maze’s “Before I Let Go” or Fast Life Yungstaz’ “Swag Surfin’” and we can’t be carefree because you’re staring at us like we’re a foreign species, it doesn’t make us feel comfortable.

I’m not gonna say that you don’t have a place in these conversations, but you need to be firmly aware of your role as an ally and not be literally front and center.

I know you can take one night out of your whiteness to be hyper aware of your place in these spaces. After all, black people have done this every minute of the day for every moment of our lives.

Kind of like how I feel about unelectable progressive demagogues.
