I'm just curious, what's the party line on not firing a coach during the season and waiting until the season's over? What have ADs etc said in the past? Has Ron ever been directly asked this question?

I think Jim Acosta asked, but he's not allowed in post game presser anymore.
 
I would have fired him after regulation and had him escorted out of the building before OT. A message needs to be sent that a certain level of competence is required to keep your job. I don't think any coaching candidates would be put off by Manning getting fired at this point. I hate to have Wellman making another hire but I think it is a necessary evil at this point - hopefully the BOT would step in and make sure he didn't make the hire all by himself again.
 
I would hope Wellman “fired” him yesterday, gave him today to clear his office, and an announcement that the piece of shit will be gone either tomorrow or Monday.

We need to find the Claw equivalent in b-ball. High intensity high IQ. Manning = low intensity low IQ
 
Wellman hasn’t inflicted enough punishment on us for demanding that [redacted] he fired. He’s in his study with the door shut, laughing.

If he doesn't fire Manning by Monday, he's an effin' idiot (which we indeed know that he is). Promote Nestor to interim-coach, and start the search. If you wait until the end of the season, you've doomed us to getting another last-minute, so-so coach, and you've put us WAY behind the eight-ball in recruiting.
 
Wellman is an idiot regardless. He should have fired him at the end of last season, shouldn’t have extended him last season, shouldn’t have retained [Redacted] for a 4th year, etc., etc.

He’s not firing Manning before the ACC tournament so we should get used to it. It’s going to be a long season.

Im with DR...Ill give this reporter plenty to write about. fans on here should be chomping at the bit. at this point idc if Wellman makes next hire, because if next coach is bad, cant be any worse, he will be gone as soon as wellman is (which i think is in the next 2 years). at least it wouldnt be this crap on the court we've been watching for 5 years now. never thought id hate watching wake basketball more than the bsz days, until i watched mannings teams. good greif
