John Wolford drafted (sort of)

With those paltry salaries, I can't believe Ebersole didn't have each franchise set up escrow accounts to cover player and front office salaries as part of their entrance into the AAF. Hell, even the local ice cream franchise demands that you have 4-6 months of salaries in the bank before you open up a store.

Agreed. Everything about the league makes it seem like it was rushed to come together as quickly as it did, and they were banking on getting through one season and then reeling in big TV deals and investors. Or, to entice the NFL to allow or loan practice squad players.

I'm no business major, but that seems like a horrible model to try to start a football league with.

Hell, even movies have completion bonds to fund going over budget. Ebersole learned from the best, his dad. It's stunning that he wasn't prepared to lose boatloads of money for a couple of years.

Panthers signed Rashad Ross, Wolford’s top WR target.

He’s a year younger than Torrey Smith.

Update from Sunday column: former Bishop Kenny QB John Wolford, who started and did well in 8 games with AAF Arizona Hotshots, has a workout Wednesday with @RamsNFL and on Thursday with @Vikings. Both looking to shore up QB depth at No. 2 or 3 spots

The Rams intend to sign QB John Wolford, per source. Wolford most recently played for the Arizona Hotshots in the AAF. He becomes third QB on Rams roster behind Jared Goff and Blake Bortles.

Opportunity to work under Sean McVay. Could be a great opportunity on many fronts.

So damn good that all of his TDs can’t be counted in a single bucket:

Wolford passed for 8,794 yards with 59 touchdowns and 41 touchdowns in his four years at Wake Forest.

His ability to actually throw a spiral should put him ahead of Bortles.

Did Wolford work out with the Rams previously? Or was it the Chargers? Good for him.

Think about the knowledge Wolford is going to absorb there. Wolford is a QB coach and future head coach in training. Seems almost set in stone.

I think y'all are sleeping on the BOAT

Bortles is that dude, probably gonna take Goff's job this season. Wolford should just be happy to be the practice squad QB.

Best QB room in the league... Goff, Bortles, Wolford... too bad our boy Zac Taylor took the Bengals job and won't be in there with them

How about John to Proehl. Austin Proehl that is.
