Republicans Shut Down the Federal Government Again & Suffer Humiliating Defeat

The purpose of this speech was simply to divert the public from the Russian lawyer being indicted and the proof that Manafort directly colluded with Russian intelligence. It had nothing to do with border security or the wall.
 
Yeah, well, it worked. There's proof the Trump campaign colluded and nobody is talking about it.
 
A new Reuters poll shows that more and more Americans are blaming Trump, and not the Democrats, for the shutdown. People that put the blame on Trump rose from 47% in the previous poll a week ago to 51% today. Only 32% blame the Democrats, while another 7% blame Congressional Republicans. So, people blame Trump and/or the GOP by a 58 to 32 percent margin for the government shutdown. Trump probably won't care, but if those numbers stay the same or get even worse, Senate Republicans will start to care. Also, even Fox News did a fact-check on Trump's claims and found them wanting.

Dudes to Trump's right are Dan Scavino and I believe Matt Schlapp. Which would make the other woman maybe Mercedes Schlapp?

i dunno, ivanka is listed at 5'11' and is probably wearing low heels in the pic b/c kushner is 6'3. it's just a bad idea for a 5'10 to stand next to and behind a 6'3' guy with dress shoes on
 
Google says Miller's 5'10", which sounds like BS.

He's standing slightly behind Kushner who's 6'3". Ivanka's 5'11". Kellyanne Conway is 5'7". So Miller's maybe 5'9".

People keep assuming government workers are going to get back pay but we’ve never have had a shutdown go as long as it looks like. Are Republicans really going to vote to pay working class people for 3 weeks, a month, two months of work they didn’t do?
 
Seems like a big PR hit for not that much money but who knows.

I wonder whats going to happen on paid leave (medical/family). Would they be treated the same as the furloughed employees, or the ones working without pay?
