'19 Special & '20 Congressional Election Thread

There are 4 house races that have not yet been called.

The closest one is in Iowa's 2nd District. The Dem incumbent retired, and the race is between Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Democrat Rita Hart. Miller-Meeks was ahead slim margin requiring a recount. The Dem has been gaining votes during the recount, and the Miller-Meeks margin is down to 36 votes. Due to the razor thin margin, the race is going to come down to interpretations of ambiguous ballots. Prolonged litigation is likely.

Miller-Meeks's daughter actually went to Wake. Pretty sure she was a cheerleader.

They completed the recount in Iowa's 2nd District, and Republican Marianette Miller-Meeks margin over Dem Rita Hart is 6 votes. There were more than 394,000 votes cast. Looking like the closest congressional race since the 1974 Senate Race in New Hampshire which had two recounts: the Republican and Dem candidate traded leads in the recounts (both by less than 10 votes); and ultimately the US Senate was asked to review 3,500 questionable ballots; which naturally resulted in months of wrangling; ultimately, the Senate held the seat open, and the NH governor called for a special election which the Democratic candidate won by 27,000 votes.
