Word up, trolls.
A lot of good threads about presidential hopefuls. I know the climate can get a little heated on the Tunnels, but in the spirit of slowing the Russian conspiracy destroying our country, I pose a question:
What does a candidate look like that crushes this election?
2020 will probably be Trump doubling down on "winning" and democrats putting up someone with some comical character flaw after endless in-fighting. But let's say that doesn't happen and a candidate comes out of center field. If there isn't a "real" person that meets that criteria, feel free to just lay out traits you think would appeal to an all-comers ticket.
I think that a candidate that ran with a focus on a free-open internet or huge budget reform with an emphasis on balancing the budget and eliminating/reducing the deficit might have a shot at that.
The problem with the climate right now is that there is an abundance of "one issue" issues that divide voters. choice/life; 2nd amendment; and healthcare. Would it be possible for a centrist candidate to win with a "where we are is good enough until we fix the larger budget problem" stance? Especially in light of "well, if you vote Trump in 2020, you know what you're getting."
