Do you come up against the standard deduction post-tax reform.

$24k for married filing jointly, no?

No mortgage interest, right?

Student loan deduction you can use even if you don't itemize. It is capped at $2,500 so it's the difference between $2,500 deduction and like a $1,600 deduction, but still a couple hundred dollars if I used the full amount. Going back to them to revise sounds like an hour or two of my life I'd want back.

You might get the one with me on a trapeze.

The phaseout is pretty aggressive though unless it changed under the new law.

File this under things that need not saying, but wedding planning has not been enjoyable for several months now.

I feel you, bro. Especially challenging when her parents aren't really involved and I'm expected to have an opinion on everything.

Just gotta keep grinding on that guest-inclusive, original-production, horror musical that the little lady demands.

We have a wedding planner which I initially was very opposed to ($) but it’s been an absolute godsend. This woman is absolutely all over every detail and I have had to make basically zero decisions, outreach to vendors, etc. Writing the checks, on the other hand, is the stuff of nightmares.

Another huge money drain is fucking property taxes man. We bought our first house in February 2018 and the city is taxing our property at a value nearly 15% higher than what we paid. Wtf.

Didn't you know that before you bought it ? Or did they just have a new revaluation which would give you the opportunity to appeal ?

Just pushed through about 50 pages of the last CT in order to catch up from when I last checked in... The depressing thing was that was like 2 months of posts and it is safe to say that I could have jumped right to this new thread and missed pretty much nothing.

Of course, I guess that's the nature of the CT.

Not a criticism of you all... More a criticism of myself. Who wastes an hour of a work day reading old posts about nothing? This guy, that's who.

This might belong in the weed thread, but I tried CBD oil for the first time on Sunday. The fiance ordered me a kombucha from Lenny Boy that had 10 mg in it. I was skeptical I'd feel anything. At first I felt a weird head buzz similar to when I used to dip occasionally. Then I felt very calm for a maybe an hour or two, similar to if I took half a Xanax or something. Unfortunately, after that, the Sunday Scaries hit in full force, worse than usual, and I felt significantly worse than before I had drank it.

During the calm period, I was pumped and bought a little 500 mg bottle from a "dispensary" nearby. Now I'm kinda scared to try it again. Chupe (et al), is this normal? What should I do (other than DBAP)?

Luckily, I had nothing to add about country music or yum yum sauce.

The (brief) return of Townie was a nice surprise, though.

Not sure how I feel about the return of RJ to the CT, though... Still need to marinate on that one a little bit.
