Government employees begin to protest shutdown

I wonder what percent of drugs that come through the southern border come as a result of bribes? Trump and his defenders are assuming that anything not caught at a port of entry is getting moved in mass quantities through the Sonoran desert, but that is far less likely than bribery or simple stealth.

legalize all drugs and monitor their movements across borders as normal supply chain transactions, America still stands, problem solved.

This also goes a long way to solving the problem of people fleeing cartel violence in Central America and seeking asylum in the US.

Yeah, legalizing heroin sounds like a fool-proof plan.

Sure does especially when you consider nobody is using or not using heroin due to its status as an illegal drug.

It would also give people the ability to use the drug cleanly and safely with needle and quality, greatly reducing the amount of transmitted diseases and overdoses related to fentanyl and other synthetic opioids.

Give legal, unfettered access to a highly addictive lethal drug. What could go wrong?

Well, it can't go worse than it is.

The Portugal example is one of several where more innovative treatment programs combined with legalization have worked far better than the USA model. We should be looking at those and learning from them.

Kind of ironic that refugees could just walk through the airport right now.
