Another racist democrat

It’s true I was a lifelong Republican until approximately 9 years ago. Republican response to Obama was horrifically destructive, dishonest, and self serving. Now I’m unaffiliated but vote almost always for Democrats. Donated to HRC campaign for first presidential election donation.

Pubs have proven to me that they neither understand how to or don’t want to govern in a way that is effective or salutary to our society.

I mean good lord, Pubs set themselves up to be taken over by freaking DJT. And, as bad or worse, they seem ok with that.

So, anyway, I’m registered as an independent but quite down on the Republican Party and favoring Dems, who are of course imperfect but more sensible and have a positive view of governance. As is evident in my posting I suspect.

I'm not a republican... Used to vote 'pub but now I'm an impartial independent just like ConnorEl, Highland Deac, and NewEnglandDeac.

Don't be a nihilist, Brad.

stick to birds

Is that because you don't know what a gastropod is? Sorry, it's a slug. I was saying that your opinion is like a slug, slimy and gross. Next time I'll use some sort of bird to make my metaphors.

LOL. I'm not an independent, and I don't believe I have ever said that on this board. Like most of my family and virtually everyone I grew up with in rural NC, I was a Republican through the 90s. I became increasingly disturbed by the likes of Gingrich and Limbaugh though, and I was very dubious of impeaching Clinton based on the evidence that he lied under oath about having an affair, although I did think he should have resigned. What really did it for me with the GOP was Dubya, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and company, and the whole Iraq War disaster. Now I'm a Democrat, and I seriously doubt that I'll vote for a Republican ever again, given where they seem to be heading (or have already headed). I do try to look at all sides of an issue, but an "independent" I'm not...nor are you, Angus.

ETA: I did switch my registration from GOP to Unaffiliated in 2001, but I vote consistently Democratic these days, although I've remained Unaffiliated.

I’m glad powerful men are being held accountable for their bullshit. I was really discouraged when Trump was given a free pass that we as a society didn’t give a shit about what people did. I’m glad consequences exist.

I hope we never have another raging pile of microwaved goat shit excuse for a human in the White House again like we do now.

The second allegations seem detailed and the accuser told other people. He needs to resign.

Dear Employees of the Commonwealth of Virginia,

It has been a painful week for all Virginians, and I am deeply sorry for causing this distraction from your important work. Our Commonwealth is in uncharted waters, and many of you are undoubtedly left confused and uncertain about what the future holds.

I want to assure you that the business of the Commonwealth and our duty as public servants will continue. You are doing that work well and I know that will not change. You have placed your trust in me to lead Virginia forward—and I plan to do that.

Pam and I are grateful for the hard work of every employee in this Commonwealth. You have been in our hearts and thoughts, and we are reminded each day that there is no better place to live and work.

Thank you,

Governor Northam

Just a form letter, but he doesn't seem to be planning to resign? He might be able to ride the "yearbook editor error" thing for a while-how many people will come out of the woodwork to admit to publishing those photos.

Pretty sure he already told his cabinet he had no intention of resigning

Or be sent quickly on up to the governorship à la Kavanaugh.

Bad/sad joke. Yep, he should resign.

Not sure where to put this so I will post it here

I’d put it 40 years in the past when comment was made. Way to reach over a quarter century to find a gotcha. I don’t think that makes the point you want it to.

“The LGBT is the most socialist group in this country,” he said during a House session Wednesday. “They do not protect gays. There are many gays they persecute if they do not line up with their social ideology.”

Wow. Wow.
