Amazon a no go in NYC. AOC slams Bezos

Hard to imagine a state level senator can derail such a progressive project. Politicians like Gianaris and AOC are unsmart. The tax subsidies given to Amazon were mostly in the form of tax credits. The city was no worse off by giving them. The city needs massive tax revenue to support its social and infrastructure agenda. Forgoing 3 billion to get 30 billion just doesn't make sense.
 
Isn’t the actual math on corporate welfare usually pretty bad for municipalities? I know cities pretty much always lose money on stadiums. Is it the same for buying businesses?
 
corporate welfare is a race to the bottom that pushes out poor people along the way

not a big deal if you're a finance guy in Manhattan like stan and are looking for more high-income folks to lessen your tax burden

why doesn't Amazon just go there without the tax breaks?
