Travel Photo Thread

Figured I'd revive this thread with a select few from my trip to South Africa.

We saw the Big Five and then some:

Nice photos. A safari is high on my list of things I want to see.

Here are some shots from my trip to Argentina in April.

Not a cool location, but love flying the drone above Wrightsville Beach. Included a picture that we worked with for the Wilmington Museum that shows Wrightsville back in the 40’s (I think). Note the Trolly track and the inlet that is about 2 blocks north of where Johnny Mercers Pier now stands.

No exotic vacations to brag about, just a couple photos from a great backpacking trip in the Trinity Alps. Possibly the most underrated slice of wilderness in the country, if you ask me...

Beautiful. Would you mind sharing your route?

Not at all. This was a hike to Caribou Lake. It's about a 10-mile day to get to Caribou Lake proper, but there are a pair of smaller lakes (Lower Caribou and Snowslide) that you can hit around the 8.5-mile mark. Lots of good camp sites in the lakes basin. The second day we did a short day hike/scramble to the top of the ridgeline that separates Caribou Lake from the Stuart Fork drainage. From up there you can see Morris Meadow and the long, meandering trail up to Emerald and Sapphire Lakes. It's breathtaking. Coincidentally, we did the hike to Emerald/Sapphire last year, so it was cool to look down on the route that we had taken. You can actually scramble back down the other side and create a loop, but you lose about 2,500 vertical feet in a little more than a mile to get to the trail to Emerald/Sapphire. To say it's difficult would be an epic understatement.

Cool pics here. This is pretty cool. Gotta love the outdoors. Anyway I know a shit ton about photography and obviously you guys don't know jack shit, so if anyone wants to stop embarrassing themselves, hit me up and I'll show you some awesome shit. We'll knock some socks off some motherfuckers instead of settling for this pointless fucking bullshit.

I'll bump this with some recent photos from Ireland and the USVI.

These aren't epic photos or anything, but this is where I spent the last ten days (and my wife spent the last 20). Lake Damariscotta in Maine. We will defs be going back to this place. I did nothing but kayak, swim and read, and it was awesome.

Just got home from a 2 weeks trip to Brussels, Marrakech, Lisbon, and London. I'll try to post some pics when my wife gets her camera pics all organized.

Video from an Iceland trip this Summer with me, another Deac, and an adopted Deac. Coincidentally enough, we ran into a Wake Women's Soccer coach who was there recruiting and staying at our hotel.
