AWAR brought up in the Delhi thread that we should have a thread just to put pictures of where we've been, etc ... I'll get it started and it should be interesting to see what people put up.

Most of my pics are stuff that's slightly different - just every day life in where ever I go (I can always buy a professional photograph of the Eiffel Tower, but not of the two arab boys on the street selling oranges, etc). The Quad/Pit has people scattered all over the world, so it'll be interesting to see "life through the eyes of the Pit"

So ... first pictures. These are from Shanghai's "French Concession", the part of the city that was ceded to France for a long time and where many of the European traders and merchants lived and worked (and still do). It was left alone by the Japanese during the war sort of as a neutralized enclave and is still one of the most gorgeous parts of any city in Asia.

Sadly, I have been there. Multiple times.

The curse of spending 10 years of your life living off of Raeford Rd.
 
Need to find the picture I took with the 6 foot dong at the World's Sex Museum in Amsterdam.
