Currie is young, dynamic, modern & smart as hell. I am all in! Let’s get back after it Wake!

Damn, didn't expect to wake up and see this. Was there a recent board meeting that sped all this up?

Historic day for Wake. Thanks for everything, Ron. I've been a critic but appreciate your services and hope you enjoy retirement. A good run.

Best of luck to Currie. Hope he is hugely successful. I worry that this decision was made independently of a decision about Manning and that he'll be retained for another year or longer, but time will tell.

I see it just the opposite. The timing of this suggest that it was done because Manning is out and Wake wanted the new AD to make the hire.

I am certainly hopeful for a new direction with the basketball program now.

Interesting reading. Can't believe Currie was going to hire Doeren. Ugh.

Keys to success:

1. Hire a home run candidate in basketball
2. Keep Clawson happy
3. Keep Muuss happy
4. Keep Bresky happy
5. Raise money

The rest will take care of itself. In fact just doing 1-4 makes #5 pretty easy.

I think this really is about the continued futility of the women’s basketball program.
