lolYou CLEARLY don't understand betting on horses.
When you bet on a horse to win, you think he's going to win. However, that doesn't mean computer or other handicappers would say he had a 40% chance. That number is VERY high in a 10-14 horse race.
But this thread is about DEAD horses. So. go back to the topic.
Why can't they just sedate them, put them in a trailer, take them to a vet, and have him/her fix the injury? I get that recovery is a lot harder for a horse than a human, but it has always seemed ridiculous how seemingly quick to euthanize they are. Sad.

They aren't "quick to euthanize". There are injuries that can't be fixed. Many injured horses are donated to everything from prisons to children's health programs.
But there is clearly something wrong with the track. This many catastrophic injuries shouldn't be happening. There definitely needs to be an investigation.

What does a prison do with an injured horse?
