Official 2019 MLB Regular Season Thread - Trade Deadline Wednesday

Chris Davis just got his first hit of the year and ends the record hit less streak

The completely unsubstantiated rumor is both Acuna and Albies are represented by smaller agencies and there was some concern they would be poached before bigger paydays, at least when it comes to the question if their agents pushed for what was in their client's best interest. As a Braves fan, these are great deals that should allow for flexibility to add pieces (or pay down commercial real estate debt) and for a longer contention window but they do feel exploitative. There was just no reason for both players to give up 4 years of FA to get guaranteed money now and the team options are ludicrously in favor of the team.

The Acuna deal is great for both sides. The Albies deal is a complete fleece job.

Steve Matz now in a small club you don't want to be part of: 8 runs given up to start the game with zero outs recorded. He is the fifth member of this club. The sixth time this has happened. (Paul Wilson did it twice.)
Phillies crushed Mets 14-3.

Was just looking through the Cubs shitty trades over the last few years and its good to see ex-Cubs farmhand, Fort Myers resident and deacphan favorite, Dan Vogelbach hitting well with the Mariners

That game also featured the rare four-inning save!

Gio Gonzalez signs with the Brewers.

Guess teams are awaiting until the MLB draft to make a final pitch for Kimbrel or Keuchel (no draft pick forfeited).

It is the slowest trot in the Statcast era if you really care, breaking Victor Martinez's record 34.1. Hoskins' second slowest is 28.9 seconds.

Bryce Harper joined a small group you really don't want to be part of. He made two outs in the same inning. His at bats bookended the Phillies scoring five in the fifth.

The Yin to this is Fernando Tatis, Sr.. He hit two grand slams in the same inning.

If I'm not mistaken, he hit both of them off of the same pitcher. I think it might have been Chan Ho Park.

Kluber fractured his right arm today after being hit by a line drive.
