2019 NBA Draft Thread: Hoard playing for Blazers in Summer League

Generally speaking doing well in the summer league doesn't mean shit. Furkan Korkmaz completely lit it up. He is not currently on an NBA roster. Crucially though, if you suck at summer league and weren't a high pick, that's a bad look.

Likely it doesn't mean much that Codi and Jaylen are putting up good numbers, but it is better than them playing like trash.
 
Sure. These are signs that CMM will continue to have a good pro career abroad and Hoard could earn some playing time next year as part of his two-way deal. That’s great.

CMM might also get a deal from a team, like the Wizards, who need a cheap fill in PG for an injured starter.

It could help Codi get a job in the G League or a better slot overseas.
 
Former Hokie Nickeil Alexander-Walker has played well for the Pens in the Summer League in his 2 games:

49 points (19-36 FG; 6-13 on 3s)
14 assists
7 rebounds
4 steals
3 blocks

Think NAW will be a good one. Pels could be special. Would love it if the Pels outperformed the Lakers over the next 4 years. The Brow would be vexed.

I wish Oak or Mo Lucas were still playing. They would have taken a 20 game suspension to kick that little bastard's ass.

What's worse than Allen's childish BS is that K enabled it and showed NO leadership or management of it. K's partially responsible. Allen should have been kicked of the team, but K might have lost a game if he did the right thing.

Yes, the indefinite suspension of Allen that lasted exactly one game was a joke but it did prevent the ACC from handing out a stiffer penalty. After all, if K felt like one game was enough to fix the problem who was the league to argue with that, I mean it is the almighty Coach K we are talking about.
 
Hoard got called up to the Blazers and played 25 seconds in garbage time in an OT win vs. Hawks. He got his first NBA rebound.
 
Marial Shayock is crushing through the first couple games in the G league. Gotta think he'd be on any other NBA roster in the league right now, averaging 38 ppg. Definitely still a project but he gets buckets.

Korkmaz has managed to use the Summer league performance as a springboard to a starting role and lots of minutes with the 76ers. Game winning shot last week. A great summer league performance at least got him opportunity. He is making the most of it.
 
Haha was wondering if that post would resurface. Korkmaz has been playing really well!
