Gred Oden

Gred Oden, sounds like a villain in a Marvel movie or something.
 
So Wake wasn't even Conley's favorite school. There goes that Dequan Cook conspiracy theory....
 
I know. A couple of things stuck out:

1 - As you said, at least 10 years later in the stories told, Wake was not Conley or Oden's 2nd choice. Conlley "liked" UNC and Oden "liked" Michigan State.
2- Oden just earned his degree from OSU
3- Matta played a clip from Wedding Crashers before the championship game.

I really hope Matta is ready to coach again either May 2nd or next year ...
 
Probably difficult to admit they liked Wake after the 10 years of purgatory the program has suffered. Wake probably isn't on many people's minds anymore. That, or we just hyped it up way too much and had no shot at ever landing any of them.

That’s according to Gred. Greg said on a podcast that Conley would have gone to Wake if CP didn’t come out early.
